We Remember

COJOCAR, Anne

October 31, 1925 — November 8, 2020

At the age of 95, Anne Cojocar passed away on November 8, 2020. She will be remembered by her children Karen Copp of Kelowna, BC, Noreen Pradinuk (Dan) of Regina, SK, and Allen Cojocar (Carol) of Kelowna, BC; her grandchildren Lainey (Mike), Dyana (Kari), Debbie (Derek), Mike, Kevin (Tiffany), Glynnis (Christopher), Sam (Britt), and Hilary; her great-grandchildren Morgan, Brenden, Aaron, Marcus, Michael, Nevaya, Macy, Jaxon and Ollie; as well as her siblings Jeannie Clark of Regina, SK, George Colcerin of Regina, SK, and Pete Colcerin of Kelowna; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was sadly predeceased by her infant son Barry 1955; her granddaughter Leanne 1978; husband Fred 1985; Son-in-law Ed 2000; Son Ken 2012; sister Verona (Billie); and brother Dan. Anne was a hardworking farm wife, homemaker, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many, and she will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.  She was feisty to the end and always had a beautiful smile. A life well lived.

Anne was the second oldest of 6 children born October 31, 1925, near Kayville, Saskatchewan to Charlie and Lily Colcerin.  She married Fred Cojocar in 1946, and they farmed near Dahinda until 1974 when they moved to Kelowna.  They were visiting family in Kelowna and decided that was where they wanted to retire.  They enjoyed the beauty of the mountains and lake and the milder winters.

Mom struggled with chronic insomnia and rheumatoid arthritis for many years but still managed to be there for her family when needed.  She led a long life alone after dad passed in 1985 but had her little companion Muffy to keep her company for many years. Mom loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren near and far and was thankful for the love and support she received from all.  Mom was pretty sharp right to the end, and we were fortunate with COVID restrictions that she was so savvy with her iPad and was able to keep in touch by face time and messenger.

Until November 2018 Mom lived in her own apartment with the aid of home support. After a fall in 2018 she was placed into a care home, and we thank the staff at Spring Valley Care Home for the excellent care she received.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date when can safely gather. Should family and friend desire, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice in Anne’s name.
