It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Collins on Sunday, September 19, 2021.
He is survived by his three loving sons Christopher, Neil, and Michael; his grandchildren Grayson, Caiden, Avery, Dillon, Josh, Paige, and Dallace; his sisters Nancy Winter-Hay and Susan Collins; and his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Frances Kathleen Collins (née Bouey).
Peter was a loving and devoted father and will be dearly missed by all.
A private service will be held by Peter’s three sons in Kelowna, BC at a later date.

Pete was a good friend for many years. Saturday nights with Pete, Fran and the boys, watching the Habs terrorize the NHL He was always eager to discuss European history and was an enthusiastic stamp collector. He was a loyal friend, ready and willing to help regardless of the problem. Than for the fond memories and Rest In Peace Pete.

Our parents, Ernie and Mary Collins, loved Pete and Nancy and me and taught us what they could about life and how to live it. We each pursued our dreams and even though we all lived in different places, there was always a family connection. Let us remember the best of Pete and share it.
Peter was a customer who will be missed and reading this obituary came as a shock to me.
His visits were like a whirlwind of talk and actions coming in my front door that always left me laughing afterwards and shaking my head.

Peter was the brother-in-law of my former husband Jerome Bouey. I was very sorry to hear about Peter´s passing. If there had been no Corona I would have spent my summer holidays 2021 with Chris and his family in Toronto and also with Peter in Westbank. I remember vividly my time in 1976/77 when I went from Hamburg, Germany as an Au-pair girl to Canada. . In Westbank I met Peter´s wife Frances shortly before she went into hospital to have their second child – Neil. While Frances was in hospital I looked after the household and Christopher. Little Chris had the most heart warming smile I have ever seen in a child´s face. I fell in love with Little Chris at first sight. Apart from looking after Chris I also had to cook for Peter when he returned from his work at the sawmill with a healthy appetite. My cooking was nowhere near as good as Frances´. And one day, when I used “Shake and bake”, the chicken was not quite done and I felt very embarassed about this at the dinner table.. But Peter was as polite, friendly and tactful as he was during my whole stay at his house and did everything to keep things easy and to make me feel better. Peter was crazy about his beautiful little son Chris, Chris´ joyous energy filled the house with light. My memories of Peter Collins will always remain dear to me.

Please accept my condolences on the death of Peter Collins.
Peter was a great father-in-law and grandfather to our son. He had an contagious laugh and has always made me feel welcomed and part of the family. I remember the first time he met our son, Grayson. Grayson was only 8 months old and Peter had mentioned to me that babies are sometimes scared of him. While cooking dinner, Peter offered to help and I asked him to just keep an eye on Grayson. Grayson gravitated to him naturally and I could hear both of them laughing in the next room. Peter will be missed and while our son may not get to see his grandpa anymore, at least we know that Peter will always be there in spirit and watch over us. We will miss, Peter but we hope he is at peace in mind, body and heart.
