CORBETT, James Hubert “Jim”
April 16, 1936 — December 9, 2023
Jim Corbett, a man who was kind to all and who gave back to his community generously, passed away at the Kelowna General Hospital on December 9, 2023, at the age of 87. The eldest of nine children,he was predeceased by his parents Bill and Ethel, his brothers Billy and Leonard, and his sisters Marie, Rose, Linda, and Donna. He is survived by sister Beth and brother Doug. Jim will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 67 years, Madeline, his daughter Lynda, and his grandchildren Blain, Tracy, Tammy, and Maria as well as by his 12 great-grandchildren.
Jim was born in St Paul, Alberta on April 16, 1936. He was an avid sportsman who excelled in Track and Field and Curling. He was a long-suffering fan of Toronto sports teams.
He served 20 years in the military with the Royal Canadian Air Force and continued his career as a Special Education teacher.
Jim has been an active member of the Kelowna Canadian Italian Club, the Royal Canadian Legion, and West Kelowna Lions.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkinson Canada.
A Funeral Service will be held on THURSDAY, DECEMBER 14, 2023, at 1:00 PM (PST), at SPRINGFIELD FUNERAL HOME, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. A reception will follow. If you are unable to attend in person, please join the family online by Livestream at the time of the service (see below), a recording will be made available to view shortly thereafter.

Hey Nana… so sorry to hear about papa, I watched the service online. was thinking about some of the memories with him when we were out fishing on Onwatin Lake. I remember we both had our lines in the water and suddenly this huge pike came right up and basically kissed the boat! I believe we both said the same bad word at the same exact time! lol
