CORMIER, Joseph Emile

CORMIER, Joseph Emile, 86, of Kelowna, BC, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 31, 2016 at Sunpointe Village Retirement Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 4th at 11:00 am at St. Charles Garnier Parish, 3645 Benvoulin Road, Kelowna, BC.  Survived by his wife Edna of 58 years; son Richard (Beth); daughter Michelle (Bruce); his brothers: Gerald (Irma), Leandre (Anna); sister Dorilla; grandchildren: Emily (Nathan), Jeffery and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family.  He was predeceased by his parents and sister Yvette.  Joseph was an extremely loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all.  After two careers, one in the RCMP for 24 years and his second with Air Canada for 17 years; Joseph retired and spent the next 20 years going on many adventures and travelled the world with the love of his life, Edna.  Joseph was an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus, a life member of the RCMP Veteran’s Association, an Air Canada Pionaire and a volunteer to the community or where ever he could give a helping hand.  A special thank you to the staff at Sunpointe Village for their loving care and support of Joseph during his final months and days.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, through St. Charles Garnier Parish.  If you wish to send a condolence, post photos or share a memory, please scroll down the page to the area called “Share Your Condolences.”
