We Remember

COULTER, Betty Louise
February 5, 1935 — March 27, 2025
Our dear Betty Coulter passed away on March 27, 2025, at Brookhaven Extended Care in West Kelowna, BC, at the age of 90.
Betty was born on February 5, 1935, in Nokomis, SK, to the late Charles and Maxine (née Coffin) Agar. In her early teens, she moved from the farm to Saskatoon, SK, where she met her future husband, George Edwin Ramsey. They married on January 3, 1953, and by 1960, the couple became a family of five with the addition of their three children: Linda Louise, Terry Linn, and Gary Edwin Max. Further west beckoned the family, and in 1967, Betty, George, and the kids moved to Edmonton, AB.
In Edmonton, she used her unassuming nature and keen observation skills while working as a store detective at shops like Eaton’s and Woolco. After her marriage ended, Betty met, Jack Coulter, they fell in love and in 1977, she married him.
Betty and Jack lived and worked in Edmonton until they retired. Betty was also a wonderful dancer, and she and Jack enjoyed many evenings twirling across the dance floor. Once again further west beckoned Betty, they moved, this time to Kelowna, BC – a perfect place for them, as it suited Betty’s love of the outdoors; the water and waterskiing; as well as golfing; and camping. Betty also loved to travel. She and Jack journeyed across Canada; into the USA, including Alaska; and to Mexico. After Jack’s passing in 2006, Betty travelled alone to New York, NY, and was incredibly proud of herself for doing so.
Betty lived a good life.
Memorial Donations in memory of Betty may be sent to MS Society of Canada, and Heart and Stroke Foundation.

We visited them a few times when Jack was alive. He was my cousin, my mom Mary and His dad uncle Johnny (Auntie Kathy) were brother and sister! When they moved out here, so nice to have family here, Auntie Kathy and Edwin came out many times. My condolences to the family.
