CRAPE, Edwin

It is with great sadness that the family of Edwin J. Crape announces his passing on June 10, 2013. Known as Ed, Uncle Ed, Dad and Papa, he leaves a living legacy in his wife Thelma, his love and partner in life for more than 50 years, sons Tracy (Heather) and Michael (Liz), daughter Michele (Scott) Walker, grandchildren Lauren, Jared, Emma, Maia and Sean as well as extended family and numerous friends.
Born in Mission, B.C. on April 12, 1942 to John and Mildred Crape, he grew up in Aldergrove, B.C. He pursued his education at Concordia College in Edmonton, Alberta where he met his wife Thelma. He finished his education in Seward, Nebraska and started his teaching career in Pocahontas, Missouri. Moving back to Canada after five years in Missouri, he continued teaching and raising his family in Rossland, B.C., then spent time in Christina Lake before settling in the Kelowna area.
Ed shared his love of life and God as a Husband, Father, Teacher and Friend. His generous nature and ability to help others were his strength and his conviction.
A celebration of Ed’s life will be held on Friday, June 14th at 11:00 am at the First Lutheran Church, 4091 Lakeshore Road, Kelowna, B.C. A lunch social will be held after the service.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Ed’s name to the Parkinson Society British Columbia (www.parkinson.bc.ca) and /or the First Lutheran Church (www.firstlutheran.ca) building fund in Kelowna. Dear Thelma, Tracy, Michael, Micele and families. I was saddened to hear about Ed’s passing. He was taken at too young of an age. He is now with his Heavenly Father and at peace. Our sincere sympathy for your whole family, Einer and Mariette.
