We Remember

*UPDATED* CROCKETT, John “Jack” McLeod

March 4, 1935 — July 21, 2021

Jack was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario. He lived in numerous towns and cities throughout Canada including Calgary, Alberta where he married Joan in April 1986. They retired to Kelowna, British Columbia in 1998.

Jack spent much of his career working in the oil and gas industry owning Jack’s Oilfield Service, building pipelines, gas plants, and pump stations throughout western Canada.

Jack enjoyed spending time with family and friends whether he was on his boat fishing, camping, travelling North America in the motor home, or watching his favourite sports teams play football or hockey. He was a member of the West Kelowna Lions Club and a Course Marshal at Shannon Lake Golf Course.

One of Jack’s greatest pastimes was spending time in his shop woodworking and building items for family and friends.

Jack is survived by his wife of 35 years, Joan; his children Tom, Terry, Shane, Shawna, Shannon (Ken), David (Patricia), and Don; his grandchildren Cole, Liam, Hanna, Sam, Skylar and Austin; his sisters Devona and Margaret; and many extended family members.

He was predeceased by his parents James and Devona Crockett, brother Jimmy, brother Don, and granddaughter Tianna.

There will be a Celebration of Life, with a reception to follow, on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at 1:00 PM at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 5V8.  Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the number of attendees will be limited, if you wish to attend please click here to sign up. If you are unable to attend in person, please join the family online by livestream (see below), a recording will be made available to view shortly thereafter. 

Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of BC.
