We Remember

CSONKA, George
October 5, 1948 — December 17, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of George Csonka, who passed away unexpectedly on December 17, 2023, at the age of 75.
Left to treasure his memory is his wife of 39 years, Milica, along with many loved ones. George goes to join his parents who went before him.
Born on October 5, 1948, in Serbia, George grew up alongside his parents, George and Margaret. In 1976, he made the move to Canada, where he lived in Toronto, Vancouver, and Kelowna, making a career as a marketing sales manager. George had a love for fishing, biking, hunting, and most of all, travelling. He was a very social and talented man who spoke 4 languages! He especially enjoyed spending his days at Gyro Beach in Kelowna, which he referred to as his “office”. George was a man of fine taste and will be fondly remembered by all who were blessed to know him.
There will be no service held. Family and friends will each honour him in their own ways.

You couldn’t fail to be happy when you were with Georgi Boy.
A dear dear friend for over 35 years, smart as a whip, great historian and a man who could face up to any of the big shots of the corporate world and put them in their place without a tremor of fear. And he did it lots of times.. Gave the Chief Purchasing agent at Boeing a shellacking for his lousy business practices just as he would give anyone a good telling off if they jerked him around.
He was like my brother and we had the same social and political viewpoints on every subject, I don’t know who to turn to now for solace but.. I’ll get through somehow.
Goodbye George , until we meet again.
My deepest condolences to Milica.
