We Remember
CUNNINGHAM, Anne (nee Brodziak)
April 7, 1922 — October 15, 2012
With heavy hearts and cherished memories the family wished to announce the passing of Anne, on October 15, 2012 in Kelowna, BC at the age of 90 years. Anne was predeceased by Lloyd, her husband of 60 years in 2008 and will be lovingly missed by her children Barry (Judy) Cunningham of Vernon, BC; Donna (Charlie) Record of Whitecourt, AB, Mae (Terry) Cunningham of West Kelowna, BC, and Neil (Marianne) Cunningham of Edmonton, AB; and her six grandchildren. Born and raised in the farming communities northeast of Edmonton, AB, Anne moved to Edmonton in her early twenties where she married and raised a family. There were numerous jobs but her work as a teacher’s aid at L. Y. Cairns Vocational School proved to be her most rewarding. After retirement she and Lloyd moved to Kelowna in 1995. Anne is also survived by sister Helen (Andrew) Tkachyk; brother Roman (Ida) Brodziak; sisters-in-law Kaye, Anne and Sophie Brodziak; and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Kelowna General Hospital for the care and comfort provided to their loved one during her final days. With dementia robbing Anne of reality, her last thoughts were to go home to help her mother and father on the farm. A small service is planned for Anne to be laid to rest alongside her husband and near her predeceased parents Anton and Mary; her sister Jenny; and brothers John, Walter and Mike in St. Paul, AB. If desired a donation can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada at www.alzheimer. ca.
Mae & Terry ~ Sam called me when he read your Mom’s obituary and I’ve been meaning to send my condolences. Finally found a way to do it and I am so sorry for your loss. Hope things are going well for you ~ I do think of you often and remember our ‘visit’ to Kelowna a number of years ago when I found you @ your new store! Will have to try and look you up next time I am in the area! Barb
