DAASE, Irma (née Buchwitz)
September 11, 1941 — June 24, 2022
It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Irma Daase, our dear wife, mom, grandma and great-grandma, on June 24, 2022, at the age of 80.
Irma was born on September 11, 1941, in Altenburg, Austria and spent most of her life in Kelowna, BC.
Irma is predeceased by her father, Friedrich Buchwitz, mother Emilie Buchwitz, and sister, Tillie Daase. Irma leaves behind to mourn, her loving husband, Eli Daase, who provided devoted care to her right to her last day; her beloved family: children David (& Maryann), Darlene (& Jim), and Carolyn (& Sean); her grandchildren Jennifer (& Jordan), Julianne (& Ian), Jessie-Lynn (& Brandon), Kevin (& Emma), Jonathan, Shaun, Cole, Tia, and Bryce; her great-grandchildren Jayden, Summer, Benjamin, Reuben, and Zoah; her siblings Ella, Hilda, and Fred.
Irma was a sweet, gentle soul who dedicated herself to the care of her family and home. For most of her working years, she worked alongside her husband in their house painting business, Eli’s Painting & Decorating. When they retired, she focused her energy on the things she loved to do like knitting, reading, gardening, doing puzzles, playing board games and spending time with her family. Irma loved her family, beginning with her husband and their own children. She delighted in each of her grandchildren as they were born, and the great-grandchildren they gave her always brought a bright smile to her face, and joy to her heart. She often expressed how she was praying for each one. She will be dearly missed by all.
There will be a celebration of Irma’s life on THURSDAY, JULY 14, 2022, at 1:00 pm (PDT) at SPRINGFIELD FUNERAL HOME, 2020 Springfield Rd, Kelowna, BC. Reception to follow.
