We Remember
DAVIDSON, Celeste Marie
February 17, 1960 — July 18, 2019
It is with deep mourning, but faithful peace that we announce that on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at 10:30 AM Celeste Davidson passed into the Light. Our amazing mom, sister, daughter, wife, aunt, friend, light, passed unexpectedly, but quickly and peacefully due to heart failure on her journey through AL amyloidosis and multiple myeloma.
Celeste was born February 17, 1960, in Kelowna, BC. She possessed many dreams, passions, and capabilities, she was a proficient pianist, world traveler, champion at scrabble, gifted yoga instructor, a fine-artist of a gardener, music teacher, homeschooler/experience giver, example, and sibling of 7 to Celia, Chris, Jill, Julie, Craig and Joy, wonderful daughter of Al and Ev Hromek, devoted wife to Ken, impactful aunt, and the most extraordinary mom and teacher to Chloe and Kyle. Truly, she was a master at all things life, and in all of it, a rainbow of light to everyone she interacted with. She was certainly not one to waste her time and inspired us all with her beautiful big smile to get not just the most out of life, but the best out of it. We are sure she is getting the best of the best out of life now.
We will all continue to be inspired by Celeste in the beautiful legacy that she has left in each of her flowers, encouraging words, music, siblings, and children. She continues to remind us of her favourite verse Psalm 16:11 “You make known to me the path of life, in your presence is fullness of joy, at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”
Thank you to all of Celeste’s friends, family, and doctors, who have encouraged, uplifted and supported her on her journey.
The celebration of Celeste’s life will be held at New Life Center on Monday, July 29th, 2019, at 1:00 PM, 2041 Harvey Ave, Kelowna, BC, followed by a celebratory yoga class in her honour lead by her daughter, Chloe, at 4:00 PM the same day at Kinsmen Park, 2600 Abbott St, Kelowna, BC (bring your own mat, or “in the grass” would be Celeste-style). If you wish to send a condolence, post photos or share a memory, please scroll down the page to the area called “Condolences”.

Saddened to hear of the loss of Celeste. The memory that sprang to mind was when she procured a Japanese Bible for us to give one of our Japanese students that we billeted. We are eternally grateful .May the peace & Presence of our Triune God be with you all.
We’re sorry to hear of the passing of Celeste. She’ll be remembered as a person with a beautiful countenance and always having a ready smile. Our sympathy to the family.
Celeste’s smile was from the heart. What a beautiful lady and will be missed by all who knew her. May the Lord’s comfort be yours now and in the coming difficult days. Dori Hoshizaki
Oh, her smile would light up any room she walked in to! I will so miss that!
Very saddened to hear of Celeste’s passing, far too young to be leaving us! Celeste helped me considerably when I signed up with Wentworth Music to try and rekindle my love for the piano. I know she will be sorely missed for her soulful approach to life and her gentle kindness in showing me the wrongs I was committing on the keys, and her talent in correcting my missteps! Celeste will be missed by all who knew her; I will ALWAYS remember her for the wonder that she was! Goodbye and God Rest in Peace my lovely teacher…

Sorry to hear of your loss. May The Lords grace and peace surround you,and may you know that you are cared for by Him.
My thoughts have been on Celeste a lot this past week as I’ve gone about my days. At church I imagined her playing music and worshipping before the Lord in His presence. I thought of Al seeing her walk through the gates and scooping her up in his arms with a “What are you doing here” look on his face. She was an example to me from a very young age of grace and dignity and also laughing at the days to come! She had the most beautiful smile and laugh but more than that the Spirit of God shone through her. Rest with Jesus Celeste and may the Lord comfort your family in the days to come.
To Ken, Chloe and Kyle. Celeste, your mom, was one of the most incredible people I had ever met. Her light will truly never be matched, she will be missed greatly. I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers, and sending all my love that I have.

Chloe and Kyle, I’m so sorry to hear about your loss. I didn’t know your mom, but I know she raised two amazing children and I can only imagine how proud she must have been of you two. Keep spreading her light through your music and loving soul Chloe. I hope your family will support you both through this hard time.
My deepest sympathy to the family for the passing of Celeste. Celeste was a wonder to me, helping me prepare for a symphony concert, and working with her superb daughter on the music for two plays. I am sorry that I haven’t seen her recently, but I will always remember her.
We heard Chloe playing a wonderful violin piece, written in tribute to her amazing mother, just days before her moms unexpected passing into the arms of Jesus. Celeste was a lovely and godly woman, blessing many lives along her life journey. Her life was well lived, full of radiance and joy! Our condolences to the Davidson and Hromek families. with a special hug to her amazing mom, Ev.
Keep on playing for your Mom, Chloe!
Our love and heartfelt sympathy, Greg and Wanda Klein
We only knew Celeste due to her love and passion for music and her immense contribution to Kelowna Old Time Fiddlers contests over the years. The young people that she taught and encouraged to compete are countless. Chloe and Kyle are perfect examples of the skill level she helped achieve with so many.
Our sincere condolences to all her family.

We are very sorry for your loss. Celeste was pure sunshine to everyone she met. Over many years, we would run into each other at one concert or another and talk of all things music. It was like no time had past. It will be like that again when we meet on the other side. In meantime, she will be missed. Peace & Comfort to all the family. You have our deepest sympathies, Tim, Trish, Eric, & Sean Disero.
I’m so sad to read of the loss of beautiful Celeste. My condolences to her husband and children, mom Ev and siblings. I met the amazing Hromek family when I babysat the children way back in 1970. Wonderful people. Every time I would meet up with Celeste, in all the years since, she would great me with her beautiful smile, so much like her mom’s. I’m thinking of you all as you grieve her loss.
To Ev and Family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Celeste was such a beatiful lady and we were blessed to have spent a little time with her when she was younger. The room would light up when she walked in with so much love. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Celeste was one of the kindest people on the earth and I am so blessed to have known her. May you, Chloe and Kyle feel her close each day going forward and may the family all know a peace beyond understanding.
We will all miss the way Celeste would walk into a room and light the entire place up with her smile and radiance. I grew up with visits and when we moved back to Kelowna we would often run into eachother and it was always excited hugs with lots to share. My condolences to all that were blessed to have her in their lives, most importantly family. We have lost a true beauty on earth but heaven has another angel.
Celeste has been inspiring her family Chloe and Kyle with Ken; and as a family band. Celest’s memories and their examples are a reality for achieving goals for all of us. Prayers of healing to all; and God has rewarded you a new beautiful assignment; love to all, Beverly Allen (BCOTF)

I met Celeste when we were both schooling our young children at home. My first (and lasting!) impression of her was a lady of great “light” indeed. She was a shining example of truly “dwelling in beauty”. May we all continue to live out this, her legacy, I am so grateful for her example of a life well lived… My sincere condolences at the great loss this leaves in your lives.
My heart is so sad to hear of Celeste’s passing. Her vibrant spirit and shining light will be so sorely missed. She was an amazing friend and encouragement in my life.
I know you will miss Celeste dearly, she was such a woman of God and loved by so many people. Where ever she went she shared the love of Jesus because she was filled with love of the Holy Spirit. During the first years I knew Celeste she befriended me and emulated the life of a strong content Christian, and taught me me many truths which have become a part of my daily life. Celeste and I crossed paths with swimming lessons and it was always a joy to be surrounded good company, hospitality and lots of flowers. A beautiful woman now in the presence of Jesus in her glorified form.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Celeste, her children, family, and friends. She was such a joyful welcome to Canada for us, and memories of the few moments we shared with her will forever bring smiles to our hearts. Her plants still grow in our garden, one of her violins is still played every day in our family. God bless.
