Went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 22, 2016 at the age of 93. Survived by her loving family, son Alfred of Kelowna, son George (Anne) of Kamloops, daughter Janice (Robert) of Castlegar, son Douglas (Carol) of Elkford, nine grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, sisters Martha Collins and Amanda Rendell, both of Whitehorse and numerous nephews and nieces.  Predeceased by her husband George Frank in 1998.

Meta was an avid walker and loved all nature. She enjoyed knitting, especially slippers at Christmas time. An avid traveller, she loved visiting “families” and preparing meals for family and friends wherever they may be.  She was proud to have spent time in the Yukon where she married George.  She was often seen singing along with her cd’s in the car.  Mom’s unconditional love for all her close and extended family will be dearly missed.

A private family service has been held. Mom’s desire was that there be a party for family and friends to celebrate her life; this will take place in late spring of 2016. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Center for the Southern Interior, 399 Royal Ave, Kelowna, BC.

    Auntie Meta was such a kind soul. She was always smiling! Although I did not get to spend a lot of time with Auntie Meta, the times that I did get to spend with her are cherished. She will be missed by many. So sorry for the families loss. We are thinking of you and sending positive thoughts your way to give you strength through this difficult time.
