We Remember

DAY, Joan Louise (née Orr)

April 12, 1939 — May 2, 2020

It is with overwhelming sadness that we, Joan’s family, announce the passing of our beloved mother.  Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Joan moved with her family to Calgary, Alberta in 1954.  She married the love of her life, Terry Wilson Day, in Calgary on July 13, 1964, and they raised three children.  Their journey through life brought them to Westbank, British Columbia in 1980 where they happily settled with their young family.  Her children Blaine Day, Dana Day (Stefan Küter), Laurie (John) Schwaiger, and grandchild Cole Schwaiger survive her.  Her husband Terry predeceased her in 2009.

Joan’s life and that of her family was pleasurably enhanced by camping every summer with friends and family in British Columbia and around the Okanagan Valley.  The proximity to Okanagan Lake provided countless hours of family adventures of exploratory boating and fishing.

Joan specifically requested that there be no service on her passing.  A private family gathering will be held in the near future.
