We Remember
DEWHURST, Christine
November 8, 1960 — June 2, 2021
In loving memory of Christine Dewhurst, we are saddened to announce her sudden passing on June 2, 2021, at age 60.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Chris will be missed by too many to mention, for she radiated love and kindness, and her beauty shone from the inside out. Her “door was always open” to everyone, and she went out of her way to help anyone in need. The centre of every social group, Chris was positive, successful, and generous. She had a marvellous sense of humour and didn’t mind being the butt of a good joke.
Chris’ spirit lives on through her family: her husband of 30 years, Gary; their children Jenn, Jordon, Kyle, Jasmin and Ricky; grandchildren Kara, Anson, Tyson, Mya, Amy, and Caleb; and her two nephews that she helped raise, Justin and Jesse. She will also be dearly missed by her four sisters Cyenthia, Yvette, Rita, and Glenda; her brother Pat; her mother-in-law Gwen Dewhurst; brother-in-law Randy (Sandy); sister-in-law Brenda; numerous nieces and nephews; and many, many dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held to honour Christine, however due to the current pandemic restrictions it will be by invitation only. The family would like to invite all who want to pay their respects to join by Livestream on Monday, June 14, 2021 at 11:00 AM PST (see below). A recording will be made available to view shortly thereafter.

Christine and I were buds all through high school along with Eva Bouchard, Liz Wolfer and I forget who else and it got even funner when she got her first car, I think it was a Rambler Classic with a gigantic steering wheel. We would all load up in her car and go to MacDonald’s or the drive-in looking for cute boys. She wore these cute octagon wire framed glasses that were so hip at the time and yes we loved our tokes and cheap wine or beer. After grad, we all lost touch until FB became a thing and so I regret that we never got to have another good and proper catchup. I remember her parents had good parties in their basement and I was always amazed that we were invited because booze was definitely a part of it. Wishing Christine and her loving family the most sincere of condolences and healing from this sudden and tragic loss. Rest in peace Christine.
Gary and family,,,we are so sorry to hear about Chris, She was such an amazing lady and will be sorely missed by all who knew her, please accept our heartfelt condolences, RIP Chris,
My Deepest thoughts go out to the entire family. I’m so sorry for everyone. Chris, her big smile n heart will be missed like no one can imagine.
I am so sorry for the loss. This has left a big hole in my heart as she was a very dear friend
Christine was my very first best friend. I remember when we moved to Midway Street in Kamloops, and the first day Chris came over, confident and bold, and introduced herself and Rita. It was the start of a great friendship. We had a lot of good times spent chasing boys, partying with our group of friends, and getting into the usual kind of trouble. While we lost contact after I moved to Vancouver and Chris moved up north, we reconnected on Facebook and kept in touch. We really had the best times with so much laughter and tears. My condolences to her sibs, Cyenthia, Yvette, Rita, Glenda and Pat, and to her husband and children. She was a bright light who lived her life to the fullest, and left the world too soon. ♥
I worked with Chris in mental health in Vernon. She radiated sunshine and positivity every day . I am so deviated for your loss . Please accept my heartfelt condolences . Stay close to one another . Sincerely , Marg

My heart breaks for each and every one of you…..Jen, Jordie, Kyle, Jasmine and Gary.
The celebrant was thoughtful. Her beautiful words led me to think that she knew Chris well….
Jordie!!! Your words described the Chris I knew and love. She was a wonderful sister-in-law. I have many memories. You described her to a T.
I have not seen Chris or the kids for many years…..but steadily you’ve all had a place in my heart.
I understand horrible grief more than I would like to imagine….. time will help ease the sharp pain but will never dull it completely. Remember the goodness, kindness and love Chris gave to all who knew her.
May the Lord give you strength to navigate this journey.
In mine and Uncle Grant’s heart’s, thoughts and prayers.
God Bless
Chris was truley a beautiful.. kind ..giving.. confident.. free spirited soul. She touched alot of people..including me. My heart aches for your loss.
Sending condolences out to the family. So sorry for your loss. Prayers and healing energy being sent out to you all.
Chris and I became friends in high school, lived together on 12th street, had our kids, changed careers, changed relationships, had our grandkids and through it all we kept in touch with visits, phone calls, e-mails and more than a few sleepovers. Christine had my heart and I had hers. Our friendship was a priority. She drove to Kamloops to do my daughters and my hair and stayed for the wedding. She met my granddaughter Yose and was looking forward to meeting 3 month old Silas. Christine has been my person for as long as I can remember. Chris is the person I would call with good news, landing a great job, or sad news like when my son passed away.. Chris called me for her landmark moments as well Our last sleepover was on the night of our grad reunion, Dolores and Chris stayed over and Alice joined us at the start of the evening when we were all getting ourselves ready to go. I will treasure all of the memories and forever miss her big smile and kind heart.. I’ll love you always and miss you forever. Rest in peace my dear and I truly hope that heaven has a white sandy beach, cold drinks and good friends to hang with!
I am very sorry for your loss and wish your family strength during this difficult time.
