We Remember
DI MARCELLO, HARRY
—
Went to be with the Lord on October 17, 2014, at the age of 54. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Mirella; daughters Anita (Shaun) Kohut, and Christina; grandchildren Donna, Vincent, and Dezarae Kohut; parents Giovanni and Anna; sister Nicolina (Carlo) Di Girolamo; brother Vic (Jacky) Di Marcello; nieces, nephews, and a large extended family. He was sadly predeceased by his granddaughter Angela Kohut. Harry was a devoted, hard-working family man who loved spending time with his wife and girls, and being a Nonno to his grandchildren. He was a dedicated employee as the manager of Mediterranean Market, and was known for his friendly, cheerful personality and bright smile. Throughout his brief but courageous battle with cancer, Harry remained positive and caring. Harry will be sadly missed by his beloved family, friends, and all who knew him. Prayers will be recited on Thursday, October 23rd at 7:00 pm and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 24th at 11:00 am, both at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1077 Fuller Avenue, Kelowna, BC. I was shocked and saddened by the news of Harry’s death. Harry was one of my closest friends while we were at Okanagan College in Kelowna 1979 to 1981. That was among the happiest times of my life and Harry was a big part of that. And it was an honor when Harry asked me to MC his wedding in 1986. God bless you old friend and rest in peace. Mirella, I can’t even express how sorry I am to hear of your loss. May God give you strength at this difficult time. Blessings and best wishes to your entire family.
Dear Mirella: I’m so very sad about your loss. Please know that I’m holding you and your familly in my heart and prayers. May you feel God’s comfort as He comes very close to you, especially during this time. Love, Marie
Dear Mirella…I am so sorry for your loss.

DI Marcello family, so very sad to hear of the passing of Harry. I only knew him from the store. Over the years he has served me and especially when my daughters were very young he would always let them sample the wonderful goodies the store had to offer. He always was friendly and so helpful and a dear man. My girls thought he had the best Olives ever and they would make sure they told him. We’re so grateful we had the opportunity to know this gentle man. We hope you all will get through this difficult time and know what a terrific man your Husband and Dad, son was…
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. My sincerest condolences.
Our deepest condolences are sent to you Mirella and family. May God wrap you in his loving arms and comfort you all during this difficult time. We will keep you all in our prayers. Love Colleen Weber ( Bossio)
Dear Mirella, Anita, Christina, & Family,
My family and I are so saddened to learn of Harry’s passing.
I worked with Harry, and it was a pleasure to have done so.
I know he lived his life for his beloved wife, beautiful daughters, and such a proud Nonno in recent years as well.
Harry was a remarkable man in that he truly was one of the kindest and most decent people it was ever my privilege to know.
Harry will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him, worked with him and frequented his place of business, where I believe he is irreplaceable.
I extend my entire family’s heartfelt condolences to yours. My mother is praying for you all at this difficult time.
We all sincerely grieve your deep loss.
The truest, kindest most loving family man has joined God is his perfect love. We are so honoured to have known him. The Di Marcello family is the greatest example of a strong, loving and supportive family.
May love comfort our broken hearts
“When he shall die,
Take him and cut him out in little stars,
And he will make the face of heaven so fine
That all the world will be in love with night
And pay no worship to the garish sun.”
Shakespeare

So sorry to hear of Harry’s short illness and passing. Any time I visited Kelowna and stopped at the Mediterranean Market he always had a warm smile. His sweet gentle manner captured my heart. The Bible says, “absent from the body and present with the Lord” for all God’s children. It’s comforting to know that you will see him again. Prayers and hugs to all the family at this time. God bless you all.

It was a very sad day indeed, when my husband told me.
Mirella, Anita, Christina and family, always know that every minute of everyday that I worked with Harry, he was so very proud of his family.
It was truly a pleasure working with him and stopping in for our favorites since then, due merely to his huge smile ALWAYS. (never mind that he was always ready to “attempt” to teach me Italian.)
Sending prayers of love, strength and courage.
