We Remember
DI PAOLO, Helen C.
—
Helen passed away peacefully on September 16, 2018 with her one and only son, Davey, by her side.
Helen was born at Silver Park, SK, and raised on the family farm. At the age of 15, she moved to Saskatoon, SK, and then later to Calgary, AB. She eventually moved to the Okanagan in 1981 with her son, Davey. She is survived by her loving family: only son Davey (Deanna); sister, Doreen Laviolette (whom was with her at all times!); brothers Hank, Harry, Joe (Sheila), Peter, Gordon (Sandy) and Don (Janice); Charlene San Jenko, whom Helen regarded as her own daughter; numerous nieces and nephews; and great friends: Anne Veinot, Aileen Biffard, Louise and Don Kaye, and Judi Marr.
A Special Thanks to Dwila Wilson, the home support team of nurses and Dr. Lisa Henczel for the care and compassion given to Mom.
During her lifetime, Helen loved horseback riding on the farm, going to dances, bowling and going to the gym. Her greatest love was for the cats she had – they were her life and family.
No Service by request.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Helen’s name may be made to the Kelowna Cancer Clinic, 399 Royal Avenue, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 5L3, www.bccancer.bc.ca/donate.
