We Remember

DICK, Bob
May 13, 1946 — December 30, 2023
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024, from 1:00 – 4:00 pm at 19 Okanagan Grill & Bar, 3509 Carrington Road, West Kelowna, BC.
Bob passed away December 30, 2023, at the age of 77, surrounded by the love of his family and caring staff at West Kelowna Lakeview Lodge in his last days. Bob resided at Lakeview Lodge for 18 months due to his illness, Corticobasal Degeneration. He leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife Jill of 50 years; his three children Wendy (Pete), Cara (Sean), and Scott (Marie); his five adoring grandchildren Erich, Rhiannon, Livia, Matias, and Emily who loved their Bumpa; as well as his many dear friends.
Bob was born at Grace Hospital in Vancouver, BC. He grew up in North Burnaby, BC. At the age of 22 he moved to Port Coquitlam where he soon met and married Jill in 1973. One year later, they decided West Kelowna was where they wanted to live and raise their family. Bob soon found employment at Sun Rype Products. With hard work, ambition, and ability, Bob began to climb the ladder to a management position. Upon retirement after 32 years, he was the Vice President of Manufacturing. The position allowed Bob to travel to many places and have adventures in the world.
Bob loved life. Water-skiing, snow skiing, golf, and travelling with his wife and friends were all things he loved to do. He had many fun trips to Disneyland with his family.
He is sadly missed by us all.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Bob’s name can be made to a charity of your choice.

Jill and family, It is with sadness we read of Bob’s passing, he gave me my first job in Canada, I worked for him but it always felt like we were working together, that was his comforting style. Lots of laughs and fun on the journey. Please accept our deepest condolencies.
Jill, Wendy, Cara and Scott. Our deepest condolences for your loss. Bob was part of my life for its entirety and he was always someone I respected. So many fond memories from my childhood. Although I didn’t see him that often in my adult years, we would pick right up like it hadn’t been a long time since we saw each other. I’m grateful Catherine was able to meet him . He had very nice things to say about her. His stamp of approval was something that meant a lot to me. I will miss him.
All of our love! ❤️
