We Remember
DIONNE, Bruce
January 25, 1947 — July 7, 2024
Bruce Dionne, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2024, after a courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. He was 77 years old.
Bruce was born on January 25th in Montreal, QC, where he grew up surrounded by a loving family. From a young age, he exhibited a resilience and optimism that would define his life. Despite facing the challenges of MS for 40 years, Bruce approached each day with a remarkable positivity and an unwavering determination to live life to the fullest.
Throughout his life, Bruce touched the hearts of many with his infectious smile and kind spirit. His perseverance in the face of adversity inspired all who knew him. He cherished every moment spent with his family and friends, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Bruce was known for his love of boating, camping, the outdoors, and community service. He served in leadership roles with the Kelowna and BC Chamber of Commerce, Lions Club, Scouts and various boards, which brought him joy and allowed him to connect with those around him. He had a great sense of humour and his laughter filled the room. His legacy of strength and optimism will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. He began his career with the Royal Bank in Montreal. Then, he came out west and had a successful career in sales and sales management, until he had to stop working due to MS at the age of 42.
Bruce is survived by his wife Sue; sons Paul and Roger; his 5 grandchildren: David, Johnathan, Ethan, Carson, Avigail; as well as his sister Arlene. He will be deeply missed and remembered for his courage, kindness, and unwavering positivity.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the KGH Foundation, in honour of Bruce’s memory.
