We Remember
DISTEFANO, Amanda Rae
February 10, 1989 — May 14, 2024
It is with the heaviest hearts that the family of Amanda Distefano shares that she went to be with the Lord and all her angels on May 14, 2024. It was a sudden unexpected clot that took our precious girl. She is survived by her mother Donna Fooks; brother Alex (Jaydee) Saunders; grandmother Mary; aunts Diane and Anne; uncles Dave and Mike; and many cousins. She was predeceased by her “Pops” Doug Fooks, Grandpa Wally, Grandpa Jim, Uncle Bill, Uncle Myles, Cousin Angie and Cousin Josh.
Amanda was the firstborn child, so kind, so loving, so generous, so beautiful with a heart of gold. Her beaming smile and contagious laugh would stop you in your tracks. She was a fierce protector of her family and all of those who were near and dear to her heart. She fought a ferocious battle until Doug aka “Pops” came to take her to Heaven to be with God and all our family and friends that have gone before her. She was her mother’s best friend; her brother’s other half and the best and only sister Jaydee would ever have. Our family is heartbroken.
She was about to embark on a journey she waited for her entire life. Amanda was a legal assistant and was soon to be taking her LSAT to enter law school. She had a brilliant mind. God had other plans for our precious girl. We would do anything to have her back. Our comfort comes from our faith, family, dear friends, and knowing she is in the presence of an army of angels she held close in her heart. Our lives will be forever changed, and pain is piercing our hearts! Rest easy now our beautiful angel. You will forever be loved and never forgotten.
The family would like to thank the staff at Kelowna General Hospital, especially the trauma and intensive care unit teams, and paramedics.

Donna, Alex and all, we are so sorry for your great loss. No words are comforting. Far too young. Know that we are thinking of you and Alex. L & Y
I’m so sorry for your loss. Amanda was a great friend of my sister Emily in high school, I have fond memories of her coming to the house as a kid. I also worked with Amanda at lake city casino for many years. She will be missed. ❤️
I am so shocked and sorry to see this. Our daughters (Sara) were the very best of friends in high school. My heart goes out to you. Amanda was a beautiful soul.
Donna, Alex and family. We are heartbroken to hear of Amanda’s sudden passing. She was a shining star and gone way too soon. Sending all of our love.
I am so sorry for your loss. I’ve known Amanda since we were in grade 3 at Raymer Elementary all the way until we graduated high school. She was such a kind and welcoming person always, and was so smart. I am so shocked to hear that she is no longer with us but she will very loved and missed by her friends and family. I’m so sorry for your loss Donna and Alex. <3
Donna I met your beautiful daughter when she was 9 years old. She was so incredibly smart. I remember wanting to reward her for her good grades and you reprimanded me saying that is was her job. You were always such an awesome mother and I am so glad you were both so close. My heart truly breaks for you, Alex and all those that loved Amanda. She will be missed. There are no words of comfort that anyone can give that makes things better. The only thing is the comfort in knowing Amanda is in the hands of God and now an Angel watching over those she loved. I watched the live stream and what a beautiful celebration of her life it was. Many hugs & much love to you Donna and Alex.
I just watched her service and was so touched by all the beautiful pictures of her. She had such an amazing smile and aura about her.. My deepest condolences for such a great loss to you, Jaydee, Alex, and Donna. Love from across the miles.
I am so sorry we are just finding out about this, rest in paradise cousin, I love you, and blessed to have gotten the opportunity to know you via Facebook..
