We Remember

DODD, Phyllis Mae

Passed away on September 25, 2013 at the age of 73. Survived by her loving daughter Brenda of West Kelowna, sons Doug (Sherry) of Sorrento, Dennis (Sandra) of Salmon Arm, Walter (Janice) of Princeton, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren, sisters Jeanette of Horseshoe Bay, Joyce (Jim) of Winfield, Debbie (Colin) of Coquitlam. Phyllis was born in Luscar, Alberta, and moved to Horseshoe Bay where she met her loving husband of 45 years, Ron Dodd. They moved throughout the province working for the highways department and retired to Westbank, BC. No service by request. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, 202-1835 Gordon Drive, Kelowna, BC V1Y 3H5.     Sorry for your loss..The way I knew of Mrs.Dodd was through Ron,,,in the very cold evenings up Mile 317 of the Alaska hwy road building in the ..winters 79-81 Ron the Cat skinner ,,Ron the foreman ,,Ron an Ea11 would sit with a warm bottle of Lemon gin and shoot the shit ,,play cards ,,try to thaw,,,Ron Dodd loved his family very much was not afraid to say so ,,especially his wife ,,tho I met her only a few times ..there was much respect for being able to take care of things at home while we built road in hostile environment .Those days both men and women sacrificed alot to get things done,,,I miss the long talks and laughs we shared ,,I hope now they are together again ,,,having a good time 🙂

    So sorry to hear of Phyliss’s passing. Just found out today by reading her facebook page to see if there was a mention to how she was doing!! I worked with her and she was a great lady and so much fun! We had some good laughs together! Mike worked with Ron and knew Phyllis longer than me, but I know he thought the world of both of them.
    Our sympathies to all the family, her children and grandchildren. May the precious memories never fade.

    We’re sorry to hear of Phyliss’s passing. We just found out today of it, via her facebook page, where I went into to see how she was doing. I worked with her and found her a lovely lady and lots of fun to be aound.
    Mike knew Ron & Phyliss a lot longer than I and always thought the world of them.
    Our condolences go out to her children, grandchildren and the rest of the family.
    May you all treasure the memories you have of her.

    mom has been gone a long time now, as i sit here thinking of her and dad tears still fill my eyes. still miss them both.
    Christmas comes and makes it worse, but I take comfort in knowing that they are with us in mind and soul at this time.
