We Remember

DOIRON, Frederick “Fred”

On Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the age of 65, Fred Doiron passed away unexpectedly in Kelowna, BC while surrounded by his family.  He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Shannon; his children Nicole, Shelby, and Morgan; as well as Kathy Langton, Steve McDonald, and family. He will also be missed by his constant canine companions, Penny (his 3-legged dog) and Harley, and his grand-dogs, Mav, Meeks, Clover, and Leggo, will miss him too.

Fred had a rough start to life, made some “questionable” choices, learned from them and then made a choice to “do better”; and, he did.  He was headed to California when he stopped in White Rock and met his “forever gal”. They married 10 months later.  Two opposites, that many said would never make it, but sure proved them all wrong, their love lasted 33 years, to the very end and beyond!

The most social “anti-social” person we ever met, Fred was the “neighbourhood watch” and the “professional mover” everyone called on, but, never collected the beer and pizza that was the usual payment. He was a loyal, determined, humble, self-made man and was beyond generous.  He was the most dedicated family man. His girls were his world, and his home was his castle.  He knew he was loved and adored by us and was proud of the life he had and content.  The world has lost an amazing and humble man.

There are not enough words to say how much Fred impacted other lives during his brief life.  We only hope he knew how much he was loved and respected by everyone who met him. He wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea or shot of whisky, but he did his best to be a provider for anyone who came into his life, in whatever way was needed.

His memory will live on through his family and friends forever.

Our Love, always and forever, to the best husband and dad.

A private family service was held on Saturday, April 22, 2023 to honour Fred. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation, www.kidney.ca.

Here is a vivid memory I have of Fred….there are many but this one takes the cake. Massive sewer backup at an employees home. We have to move a fridge, freezer, bookshelves…..literally swimming in shit. This man, being the most DIRECT, NO F***S given, SUPPORTIVE, and strategic mother f*cker…
