We Remember

DOLMAN, Glenn Edward
April 1, 1965 — April 28, 2025
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Glenn Edward Dolman, who was born on April 1, 1965, in Kelowna, British Columbia, and passed away at home on April 28, 2025, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Glenn is survived by his loving wife Rose and their sons, Ben and James, and his sister Corinne and her husband, John Large. He was predeceased by his parents, Don and Kathy Dolman.
Born and raised in Kelowna, Glenn graduated from Kelowna Senior Secondary and spent many years involved with the Kelowna Crows Rugby Club. He was also a dedicated hockey coach and board member with the Winfield Minor Hockey Association, where he mentored countless young athletes over the years.
An avid fisherman, Glenn spent many hours on local lakes and the ocean. In recent years, he especially enjoyed his time at Poett Nook, surrounded by his fishing friends and family. In the winter months, Glenn headed to the mountains, where he thoroughly enjoyed his passion for snowmobiling and being involved with the Kelowna Snowmobile Club.
As the owner of Concrete Creations, his expertise, and knowledge in the concrete business earned him the respect of others in the industry. Glenn will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his love for his family, friends, and passions – especially fishing, snowmobiling, rugby and hockey — will always be remembered.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to KidSport BC – Lake Country Chapter, in honour of Glenn’s long involvement and love for sports.

My deepest condolences to the family, I was a friend of Glen’s at San Jose rugby club. He will be missed.
I had the great honor of playing with Glenn with the San Jose Silverhawks, after hearing many stories about him playing for the Seahawks here in San Jose. His legacy will live on with us for many years to come. I am so sorry for this loss, I know it is felt far and wide, and particularly painful to those close to him, family and friends. He is missed by his brothers (and sisters) here in San Jose.
To Rose and the boys our deepest condolences from all of the Rugby world. I known Dault since the late eighties. Played Seahawk and Silverhawk rugby with him. Just a great guy , god we will miss him. When we think of those times it makes me laugh and smile. My wife Kathy and I meet Rose back in the day, what a hoot, full of spirit and vinegar. It has been a while since I saw or talked to Dault but he and Rose are always in our thoughts. God bless you Dault and we will see you on the other side . Love you Mate. Eddie and Kathy Taituha.
To Rose, Ben, James and family our heartfelt sympathy goes out to you for your loss. We will not be able to attend the funeral on Friday, but we will be there with you all in spirit. I struggle to write something that is worthy of such a special person like Glenn, as I fear I cannot put into words how much he meant to us. Glenn was an adored part of our Poett Nook Family. He was always there to welcome us into his camp to share a meal (superb camp chef), a happy hour cheer, a fishing story, a fishing technique (does the size of the leader-line matter?), a jab/tease (Santana, lol), lots of laughter and sometimes a tear. His positive attitude, genuine smile and laughter was contagious, which always warmed your heart and sole. He was a kind, generous, selfless individual who knew what it meant to be a good friend unconditionally. Our heart breaks knowing those great times are now just memories that will be cherished forever. Glenn, you will be missed. Love Mike and Verna Wagner
Rose, and boys, I was saddened to hear of your husband, and father, passing away. Our deepest condolences. Been thinking of, and praying for you. May God comfort you during this difficult time. Hugs and prayers. Frank and Tina Siemens.
Our sincere condolences. We were with you for the service, virtually. Rest in peace Glenn.
Sending Love.

The news of Glen’s passing really knocked me around.
Even though we hadn’t seen each other for years I always knew that the next time we met it would have been like we had only see each other the week before,
Time doesn’t diminish true mateship.
We all know how big of a heart Glenn had.
We first met in San Jose with the seahawks, after the season he the invited his three new Australian mates into his home and made sure we were welcome. The hospitality was incredible. I suppose that was easy to do when it was really his parents Don’s and Kathy’s house. The meals Kath used to put on when there were 4 young always hungry men in her home were amazing. Don would just role his eyes and ask how much were they going eat and if we were speaking English or not as he couldn’t get past the Aussie accent and slang.
When I badly broke my leg playing for the Crows in Kamloops Glen really stepped up. He organised a Crows player to give me his Medicare card as all us Aussies had no insurance. When asked why he didn’t give his own he replied I’m going to need it shortly” and fair enough Glenn joined me in Kamloops hospital with a broken nose a short time later along with a bunch of the Kamloops players who also had injuries.
So I spent a week in hospital after undergoing surgery in a hip cast under someone else’s name. Crazy stuff. Nurses and doctors asking why I’ve got a Oz accent? Once out of hospital Glenn somehow convinced Kath and Don that I could do my rehab on Dolman Mountain.
Dolt, and Corinne Dolts sister went far beyond mateship to ensure I recovered.
If Kath only knew how close she was to having me as a son in law she would of ran me off the mountain.
The adventures and memories made with Dolt have always been close to my heart and have been recounted many times around the world.
I was planning on coming through north America next year to catch up with mates and it saddens me deeply that I won’t be able to muck around with Dolt this time.
Some say that rugby is the game they play in heaven.
f that’s right, Dolt will be looking for a game.
If rugby’s played in heaven then there has to be a pub close by, when my time comes I’ll know where to find him.

Glen’s passing is a loss to the Poett Nook community, He will be remembered as a kind hearted and thoughtful fishermen who had the most amazing aromas coming from his campsite as he loved to cook and share his food with friends and anyone who was lucky enough to walked by his campsite around dinner time.
Our thoughts are with Rose and her family during this difficult time.
Hugs & love
