In his long and full life, he was a pattern maker, airman, carpenter, photographer, rock hound, builder, electrician, silversmith and more; but he will be remembered mostly as a caring friend and family man. Condolences to Johns family. John will be missed by the BC Lapidary Society, but especialy by the members of the Kelowna 1120 Rock Club of which John was a life member who contributed in many ways. His humour at the meetings and his participation in the Club Shows over the years can never be replaced. Thanks John.

We are very sorry to hear of John’s passing. Frank & John were good friends & John helped to teach Frank many things about being a rock hounder. He was always upbeat & cheerful & we will miss his phone calls. Rest easy John.
John was also the Doyle family historian and over the decades compiled profile sheets for many of the members of the Doyle ‘clan’ – ;o) He willingly shared his research with me as one of my relatives (the Firlotte family line) had married into the Doyle family. He also used to phone every Christmas to see how my family was doing. I used to enjoy his updates and know that he was still hearty and healthy.. It is interesting to note his partners name is listed as Mary Geraldine – also my Mother’s name!! It was truly wonderful to have known him…. ;o) “Enjoy your family re-union Joe -with all those ‘down home’ folks who have gone before”…. Ken
