We Remember
DROTAR, Christopher Brian
May 2, 1981 — May 11, 2024
It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected loss of Christopher Brian Drotar, who passed away on May 11, 2024, at the age of 43 in Kelowna, British Columbia.
Left to hold him dear in their hearts are his parents Lauri Schuster and Brian Drotar; sisters Robyn (Jeff), Stevie (Ian), twin siblings Taylor (Hunter) and Joseph; grandmother Helen Yanyu; close friend Kiara and her two children; niece and nephew Kaylee and Casey; along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him dearly. Christopher now goes to be with those who passed before him – his grandparents Nicholas Jr. and Marie Schuster, step-mother Collette Drotar, and Auntie Lea.
Christopher, born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, was a man of many talents and interests. He had a beloved dog named Hemi, a lab and husky mix, who was his constant companion. With numerous certifications, Christopher was truly a “jack of all trades,” excelling as an entrepreneur, technician, security specialist, team leader, electrician, and a heavy equipment operator. His hobbies included target shooting, snowboarding, riding skidoos and motorcycles, as well as canning and gardening. He was also an avid car enthusiast. Growing up, he spent most of his free time on the farm with his grandparents, farming and learning valuable life skills. Known for his reliability, Christopher always showed up for everyone, embodying dedication and support in every aspect of his life. He will be greatly missed by all who were lucky to know him.
There will be a Celebration of Life held over the July Long Weekend in Saskatchewan in Christopher’s honour.
