It is with heavy hearts that we announce the loss of Eleanor (Ellie) Lesley Dupasquier, who passed away with her daughters by her side, on December 3, 2024, in Kelowna, BC, at the age of 82.
Left to treasure her memory are her daughters Debbie Dupasquier (Jeff) and Lisa (Ara) Yeremian; grandchildren Taline and Arden; brother Edwin “Ted” (Ann) Jagger; grand-dog Cody; and dear friend John Mensink.
Ellie now goes to join those who passed before her, including her longtime partner, Wayne McIntyre; parents Edwin and Florence Jagger; and brother Robert Jagger.
Born on September 17, 1942, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to loving parents Edwin and Florence Jagger, Ellie grew up in Winnipeg, where she cultivated a deep appreciation for family, friendship, and learning. A bright and determined student, Ellie graduated from the University of Manitoba with a degree in Physiotherapy laying the foundation for a meaningful and impactful career. She later built a beautiful life with her longtime partner, Wayne McIntyre, cherishing every moment spent with him and the life they created together. Ellie’s love and devotion extended to her two beloved daughters, her grandchildren, sons-in-law and her cherished friend John Mensink, with whom she enjoyed countless drives filled with laughter and connection. She also had a special fondness for her grand-dog Cody, who brought her endless joy.
Ellie’s passions were as varied as they were heartfelt. She loved travelling, tending to her garden, and walking through the woods at the cabin in Red Lake, Ontario finding peace and inspiration in nature. It became an annual tradition to travel to Ontario for Thanksgiving to spend quality time with her beloved grandchildren. A talented cook, her roast beef and Yorkshire pudding and homemade chocolate birthday cakes became family legends. She was notorious for always baking too many cookies and muffins that were inevitably sent home with her daughters to be enjoyed. Ellie loved music and enjoyed playing the piano. She loved the Christmas season and always went above and beyond to make iit extra special for her children.
Ellie’s warmth and genuine nature resonated with everyone she met; her lovely laugh and kind spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Her presence brought people together, and her love of life was contagious. Eleanor will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those whose lives she touched.
Family and friends will each honour Ellie in their own ways. No formal service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation.

Ellie was a great friend. We shared much during the years we worked together. She had great love for her daughters and their families. She will be missed.
We were deeply saddened to hear about Auntie Eleanor’s passing. She was such a kind and generous soul, always thinking of others and bringing back thoughtful gifts from her travels when we were young that we’ll always remember fondly.
We always loved listening to her play the piano at the holidays, wishing we could play as beautifully as she did! She carried herself with such elegance, always so beautifully dressed and graceful in everything she did.
We have many cherished memories of spending time with her and the family at holiday meals. Her warmth and laughter made those gatherings so special, and we will forever remember the great times we shared together. Her eggnog sauce was especially delicious on the Christmas pudding!
We send our love and condolences to Debbie, Lisa and their families during this difficult time. Auntie Eleanor will always hold a special place in our hearts.
