We Remember

DUTKA, Lorne Nicholas “JR”

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lorne Nicholas Dutka “JR” of Oyama, BC on April 19, 2020 at the age of sixty-four.  He is survived by sons Lorne William “LJ”, Nikolai Stuart “Nik”, and Matthew; daughters Michelle (David) and Nadene (Paul); grandchildren Nicholas and Vanessa; as well as his father Lorne, SR. (Lorna); sister Sharon; nephew Lance & family; his Uncle Jerry; cousin Ken & family; and Aunt Betty.  Lorne was predeceased by his mother Nancy, brother Douglas, nephew Christopher, and cousin Andrew.  For all who knew and loved Lorne, he will be remembered for his talent in all-things computer, his incredible “green thumb” & knowing his way around the kitchen  – –  even to the extent of canning borscht & putting up sauerkraut.  Through the years, Lorne felt very blessed and grateful to have developed relationships with the many neighbors, as well as the special friendships formed, and for the support he and “the Boys” received from Linda & Merle, and Colleen.  Due to the uncertainty created by COVID-19, a celebration of Lorne’s life will be held at a later date.  Meanwhile, we ask that those whose lives Lorne touched take a moment to remember him in their own special way.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Lung Assn., or The Heart & Stroke Foundation. If you wish to send a condolence, post photos or share a memory, please scroll down the page to the area called “Condolences”.
