My sincere sympathy to Art’s family. He was always kind and thoughtful. Though I haven’t seen him for many years I remember him fondly.
Our condolences to Uncle Art’s family. I remember driving south from Edmonton each fall with my father for duck hunting. The only things we “bagged” were delicious fresh loaves of bread and pastries from Uncle Art and Aunt Evelyn’s bakery in Camrose. Though we didn’t see him as often after he moved to Kelowna, we still enjoyed visiting with them and seeing him work with the dough and ovens.
We wish we could be with you tomorrow. Our thoughts are with Tantes Meta & Lilli and Uncle Herb. While I was one of the younger siblings in the family, I too remember the Camrose bakery and all the pastry. Later, in Kelowna we appreciated it when Uncle Art and Aunt Evelyn put us up for the night when it was to stormy out to camp with a toddler and a baby. Uncle Art had such a kind, gentle heart which we will remember always.
I met Arthur only recently at Orchard Manor Care Home where my father was also a resident. He was always so happy and when asked how he was doing on a particular day he would reply with a big smile ” Just excellent”. I know he very much missed his wife, and overcame the difficulties of the War to be a happy man who led a full life. Condolences to the family on the loss of this great man who is reunited once again with Evelyn.
