We Remember
EDELBROCK, Marina
February 11, 1952 — December 1, 2023
Marina Edelbrock (née Wahl), fondly remembered as Mom, Mama, Oma and Aunty Marina, was born on 11 February 1952 in Essen, Germany to Martha (née Martle) and Kurt Wahl. Marina passed away on December 1, 2023.
Marina immigrated with her family to Windsor, Ontario, Canada when she was one-year old and later called Orangeville, Ontario her home for many years until moving to Kelowna, BC in 2001 to retire with her husband Hubert Edebrock.
There will never be a more caring and generous soul who truly wanted to always give. She cared deeply for her family and friends, with a loving and warm (and super clean) home. Marina dedicated her life to being a mother and Oma, and always knew the right gifts and things to say, especially in her thoughtful and elegantly handwritten cards. She was a constant supporter of all of us and always made us feel special.
Marina’s desserts! You didn’t have to ask for one, and it was always made with love for you, whether it be her Beinstick, famous carrot cake and rum cake. Absolutely delicious!!! Her painstakingly made Rinderrouladen was the best outside of Germany (some would argue anywhere) and always served with her Rotkohl and dumplings… especially for her son Andre on his special occasions. If you tasted it, you know.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Hubert Edelbrock, her daughter Stephanie Lexine Bojeczko, son Andre Ryan Edelbrock, their spouses Jason and Diana Barbato respectively and her four grandchildren, Justus, Roman, Matteas and Adriana. She is also survived by her sibling Rainor Wahl, his spouse Norma Wahl, along with many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 9, 2023, at 4:00 PM, at SPRINGFIELD FUNERAL HOME: 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC.
Marina’s beautiful heart will twinkle and sparkle with love in our hearts forever.
We love you forever and will miss you.

To Hubert and family – so sorry to hear about Marina’s passing. Such a loving and vibrant lady. We returned to Kelowna due to the death of my father on Dec. 9th and were shocked to learn on the Springfield site that lovely Marina was gone. Although we have lost touch since moving away, we have often thought of the good times with our 5th floor neighbours and of course the delicious treats Marina made for us.
