We Remember
ENNIG, Ron
October 31, 1966 — July 16, 2023
It is with great sadness to share the news that Ron Ennig passed away due to a brief battle with cancer. This came as a surprise to everyone only being diagnosed three weeks prior.
Ron has been many things during his time on Earth: A beloved father and father figure, a confidant to many, a talented musician, accomplished chef, and so much more. The impact he made in this life is immeasurable and he leaves a huge legacy to carry forward.
Up until the moment he was taken to the hospital, he spent his days serving people of various kinds. His time was spent primarily cooking at the Metro Community, creating meals for anyone who walked through his doors. As an accomplished chef as Ron was, he was an even greater counselor who gave a listening ear to those that needed the care and time the most.
In the weeks before his passing, Ron told his family that “no matter what happens, I win.” Now he is resting easy in heaven knowing that he was a dedicated and faithful servant. He has won.
Ron will be lovingly remembered by his favourite and only son Bailey Ennig; mother Ruth Ennig; siblings Mary-Ellen (Kevin), Bernd (Yvonne), Randall (Maria); nieces and nephews Candice (Mark), Scott (Anna), Stacey, Melissa (Josh); along with many other family members and close friends.
To honour Ron, the family is holding a Celebration of Life on Sunday, July 23, 2023, at 1:00 pm, at Metro Community Church, 1265 Ellis Street, Kelowna, BC, and it will be facilitated by Ron’s close friend and Pastor Joel Feddersen. Please join us to celebrate Ron and to share stories of how he made this world a better place.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Metro Community.

My condolences. I had the opportunity to meet Ron and he certainly made the world a better place
I can’t even begin to describe the sadness I feel in hearing about the loss of one of my truly closest friends. My most sincere condolences go out to Ron’s family… to who I have known over half my life. I have attached a first clip of video archive going back to when we were experiencing the time of our lives as fellow musicians and brothers. On Ron’s Facebook page, a posted a video of our band Fahrenheit in 1988-89. They were great years of living and playing. Superb memories indeed. Godspeed!
