We Remember
EVANISHEN, Jerrold John “Jerry”
—
On February 16, 2022 in Kelowna, BC, Jerrold Evanishen passed away peacefully. When asked to describe Jerry, a friend said, “He was a pretty good chaser of rainbows”.
In his youth, Jerry belonged to the Royal Canadian Air Cadets, and eventually became a bush pilot. He spoke fondly of his adventures in the northern regions of Canada. The great outdoors provided Jerry with endless pursuits as he camped, fished, and panned for gold. Another of Jerry’s passions was music. He played his tenor saxophone in various bands, entertaining at many dances and parties.
Jerry always enjoyed the company of cats. In his later years, Jerry had a cat named Minnie, whom he greatly adored. She even accompanied him to the retirement home where they spent their remaining years.
Jerry was predeceased by his parents, John and Natalie; wife, Elizabeth; and son, Brent. He is survived by his children Travis, Mark, and Deanna; grandchildren Jordanna, Karis, and Owen; and his siblings Johanne and Danny.
While a formal service for Jerry will not be held, his near and dear will honour him, each in their own way.

I was so sad to hear of Jerry’s passing. The last time I saw him.was in the late 1980 s while I was visiting kelowna. I met Jerry when he had a fishing lodge at cree lake in northern saskatchewan. I worked as a guide for him and his guests for about 4 summers. I ll always remember the fun times we had together up there
So sorry that you are not with us anymore.
