We Remember
FANSLAU, Harold “Harry” Horst
—
It is with deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Harry Fanslau, on Sunday, February 13, 2022, after a lengthy illness. He was surrounded by his family as he left this life behind to be in the presence of Jesus, his Lord and Saviour.
Harry was born in Hunzen, Germany, and immigrated to Canada with his parents and brother at the age of eleven months.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing, had exceptional culinary and woodworking skills, and was an accomplished trumpet player and musician. He directed choirs, orchestras, and produced and directed numerous Christmas Musicals, Easter Passion Plays, and Western Nights at Evangel Church.
In his earlier years, Harry played in a trumpet ensemble and sang in a vocal trio that performed in numerous churches in Canada, the USA, and Europe.
His quick wit and sense of humour had us laughing uncontrollably. He could find humour in the most mundane circumstances of life.
Harry will be lovingly remembered by his life partner, Linda, whom he loved and appreciated deeply. She was his rock, and our family is blessed and thankful for her love and care of Harry.
He will be deeply missed by his brother Ron (Gloria) Fanslau, sisters Norma Anderson (Paul), Elenor (Dave) Hansum, and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Despite his challenges and illness, Harry had an unwavering trust in God and persevered with a positive outlook on life.
He is sadly predeceased by his parents, Helmut and Ursula Fanslau, and his niece, Lisa Fanslau.

Rest In Peace..
Very sad to hear of Harry’s passing. We shared some good times together. I will go back to my photo album of our Shalom trip in 1975 to remember what an inspirational and influential person he has been. My thoughts are with his family and other loved ones.
With sincere condolence.

Sad to read about Harry’s passing, however, he is with Jesus now. Such wonderful memories of listening to Harry and Ron and their group; absolutely, incredibly amazing trumpet playing. I still have an album. Condolences to Harry’s family and friends; there will be a large void in your lives. May God’s comfort surround you
We were so sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved brother. He was such a loved member of your family,
he will be missed, but know he will always be with you. We love you and our thoughts are with you.
So sad to hear of Harry’s passing. Our condolences to the Fanslau family. Many fond memories came to mind of time spent with Harry in youth, playing in the band and the trumpet trio, and traveling together. He was a great friend and mentor. He is now singing and praising God in a heavenly choir
Passing along our love and prayers.

Harry & Linda led by example to teach us all what it means to love our mates not only in word but in deed – they were blessed to be given each other in this life as perpetual partners.
