Gordon Farries, born November 11, 1933, died September 21, 2024. Gordon was born in Bentley, Alberta to RD & Dorothy Farries. He resided in Champion, Stavely, & Lethbridge, all in Alberta.
In 1952, Gordon joined the Canadian Bank of Commerce working in numerous places mainly in Alberta, a career that lasted 39 years. After Gordon’s retirement, Dorothy & Gordon moved to Kelowna, BC. Dorothy passed away in 2002, and in 2005, Gordon married Barbara. Gordon played Old-timers Hockey for many years and really enjoyed the friends he made there. He was a real sports lover, particularly hockey & the Edmonton Oilers.

Barbara, he was blessed with having you as a wife. The love you had for each other was an inspiration.
Gordon and Dorothy became our wonderful neighbours when we moved to Hardisty Drive. We continued our friendship by visiting their B&B in Kelowna a few times. You had two amazing parents who lived interesting lives and made friends easily. It was our gift to know them.
As an aside, Doug, your oil pastel of vegetables still hangs in our kitchen. We enjoy it every day.
So sorry to here of Gordon’s passing. I knew him for many years as we played hockey in the Boucherie league & had many cups of coffee & discussions at the A&W in West Kelowna. Gordon was very much a gentleman in every sense of the word. He was also very soft spoken & had his opinions which were well thought out. My thoughts and prayers are with the family in this time of grief
