We Remember
FARROW, Hedley Rosslyn
January 18, 1940 — October 24, 2022
Sadly, we announce the passing of Hedley at the Village at Mill Creek long term care home on October 24, 2022, at the age of 82.
Hedley Rosslyn Farrow was born in Hamilton, Ontario, January 18, 1940, the son of Ross and Edna Farrow (deceased). He leaves his two daughters, Heather (Ottawa) and Janice (Pete) Zimmer (Dorchester, Ontario) and their sons Adam and Jonah. Hedley is survived by his brother Morris (Donna) and sister Alice (Alan) Lyons and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his older sister Carolyn (Dale) MacDonald. He is also predeceased by his wife Valerie (d.2022), wife Barbara (d.1998) and ex-wife Helen Rasberry (d.1986), mother of his children.
Hedley proudly spent his career at the Dofasco steel mill in Hamilton as an industrial electrician and journeyman. There he mentored junior electricians and survived a very serious accident in 1983.
He loved golf and achieved two “hole-in-one” during his golfing days. Golf and warm weather drew Hedley with his then wife Barb, to Kelowna in 1995 – his “shangri-la”, where they both worked at a golf course and he was his condo association’s president.
Beyond golf, Hedley enjoyed many activities from riding his bike and playing hockey as a child, to teaching himself computers as an adult. He loved his red “Rupp” snowmobile and built himself a motorized surfboard – a predecessor to the “seadoo”. He dearly loved his favourite dogs, Dumplin and Charity.
A celebration of life will occur at a later date.
If desired, memorial contributions to the Alzheimer Society of Canada, or Diabetes Canada, would be sincerely appreciated by the family.

Dear Heather, Sincere condolences on the loss of your Dad. It’s so nice to read that he lived his life to the fullest and that he was happy. I hope your wonderful memories of him help soften the sorrow of your loss. Your friend, Kathleen
I’m sorry for your loss. I’ll always remember seeing that stand-up surf board, and how he loved that red Rupp.
I worked with Hedley at Dofasco and when he was in Hamilton My wife and I golfed with Barb and Hedley and have lots of good memories. We are sorry to hear of his passing. Memories of Myrtle Beach with them as well.
We were Valerie’s neighbours. We did not get to meet your dad but know that Valerie was there to see him almost daily except when COVID-19 hit. We are very sorry for your loss. Take care.
