We Remember
FAST, Lorrayne Olga
November 28, 1931 — September 28, 2026
Lorrayne Fast passed away peacefully on September 28, 2026, at the age of 94.
She is lovingly remembered by her son, Peter. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 61 years, Victor, in 2022.
Born in Edmonton, Alberta, to Frederick and Emma, Lorrayne was the youngest of eight children.
She lived her life with kindness, generosity, and a warm smile that touched everyone she met.
Lorrayne and Peter enjoyed walking through the mall six days a week, where she greeted everyone with a smile. Her friendly nature led to many lasting friendships, and several of those friends visited her during her time in the hospital.
Dedicated to helping others, Lorrayne led her own Weight Control group, encouraging and supporting people on their journey to better health. She also loved baking muffins and, together with Victor, faithfully delivered them to the local drop-in centre for many years to brighten the days of those less fortunate.
Her faith was the foundation of her life. As a devoted member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, she found strength, purpose, and joy in serving God and her community.

Condolences to Peter, your Mother was such a joy to see everyday on her walk in the mall. She brought joy to so many and I will miss her dearly everyday. Her smile will be with me as I open the doors to Purdys. . She was such of breath of fresh air and inspiration to so many. .
I was very sorry to hear of Lorrayne’s passing! She was a lovely kind lady who I got to know through my mom, Claire Ritchey, as they sang together in a ladies Triple Trio for many years. I accompanied the ladies from time to time and the practices were full of laughter and fun, and attention to detail as they harmonized and arranged music for many Church services and programs. Their mellow harmonic blend is still in my memory and ranks as one of the best ladies gospel ensembles I’ve heard. The last time mom and Lorrayne visited was about 4 years ago at my mom’s brother’s memorial service. Attached is a picture of two wonderful women! To Peter, my sincere sympathies, the loss of a beloved mother and your last parent is very difficult and sometimes leaves you wondering how you will get along without them. Ask God for His strength and rely on Him and supportive family and friends. There’s a very bright future ahead! Keep your eyes focused on the One who will call your mom’s name on that day. She will rise like so many other faithful ones to a life of eternal happiness!
Sincere Sympathies,
Lynn (Ritchey) Rhynard

Our condolences to you ,Peter.. Your Mom was a life long friend. We grew up together in Edmonton and have many memories of out teenage years. She was Shirley’s bridesmaid and we were part of the whole clan. One by one we are being laid to rest, waiting for Jesus return and renewing our friendship. Jean Yuros & Shirley Schafer
