We Remember
FICHTER, Theresa
June 20, 1965 — January 31, 2026
Theresa “Terri” Fichter passed away suddenly after a lifetime of health challenges that she faced with remarkable strength, grace, and stoicism.
Small in stature but immense in spirit, Terri had a way of winning hearts wherever she went. Growing up with three older brothers and a sister, and later discovering and connecting with her extended birth family, brought her deep joy. Belonging mattered deeply to Terri, and she cherished every connection she made.
She remained actively involved in her community, whether through Kelowna’s annual Stride with Pride walk or her participation on committees at McGivney Manor. The close friendships she formed at McGivney Manor meant the world to her, and her days were brightened by the companionship, laughter, and support she shared with those she held dear there.
Above all, Terri loved her family and friends. She was endlessly thoughtful and compassionate, always placing the needs of others before her own. Her kindness, warmth, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Plans for a Celebration of Life with family and friends will be shared at a later date.

Terri was always the bright light even on the cloudiest days. It would take me years to share so many stories that made us all roll over and laugh. She was tiny in stature but could come out swinging if needed. You will be forever missed and loved by me and the kids. We have very special memories we hold dear to our hearts. We love you! Party in the stars 🌟❣️🕯️
We met little Terri with the big heart while visiting at McGivney. She was always so cheerful, welcoming and so friendly and interested in others lives. Such a beautiful soul and warm spirit in a cute little tiny person. She will be missed.

We will miss seeing Terri in our neighborhood. She was always so cheerful and happy to see us. May she rest peacefully.
I worked at McGivney in Terri’s last years. We found we had a common background and friends. I loved our giggles and chats. Truly my life is better for having known her, my little princess.
