We Remember

FIDLER, William James “Jim”
—
It is with the greatest sadness and heaviest of hearts that the family of Jim Fidler announce his passing. He went peacefully, at home in the loving arms of his family, on March 19, 2022, at the age of 63, after a long battle with cancer. His courage and bravery through this difficult time was inspirational to everyone.
Jim was born in Winnipeg, MB in 1959 and lived in several cities before settling in Kelowna, BC in 1974. Jim was predeceased by his father Harold and his mother Nora. Jim was a cabinetmaker by trade and started Classic Gallery Framing Inc. in 1991, in the garage of his home. Classic Gallery Framing grew from here to a full service wholesale framing specialist serving art galleries and artists throughout North America. All those that worked for Jim loved him, he nurtured a family like atmosphere. His love of working with his hands, showed in the quality of the workmanship.
People who met Jim were immediately enamoured by his charm and gentle nature. We often referred to him as “Golden Boy”. Jim loved fishing, the outdoors, and Friday happy-hour with his best buds, and above all spending time with his family. A devoted family man, Jim will be missed by Karen, his wife of 22 years; sons Joe and Daniel; daughter Amanda; sister Jan (Rod) Charlesworth; brother David Fidler; his brother from another mother James Goligher (Lesley, his dancing partner) and many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his many family and friends.
Jim, goodbye (just for now) my love – Karen.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of service and flowers, donations may be made to your local cancer society chapter.
