FIERBACH, Ronnie (Ron) Edward

Ron was welcomed into the arms of his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on February 22, 2014, at the age of 71. He passed away peacefully in Kelowna, BC, with his loving wife, Lily and family by his side.
Ron will be greatly missed by his wife of 44 years, and fondly remembered by his children, Kevin (Jackie) Fierbach, Carrie (Dave) Vroege; five grandchildren, Jayden, Jenae, Joel, Lian and Asher; his mother, Elma; sister, Diane (Ken); two brothers, Dennis (Janet), Reg (Doris); Lily’s brothers and sisters and many dear relatives and friends. Ron was predeceased by his father, Edward and his grandson, Neil.
Ron reflected Christ’s love for him with his servant’s heart and passion for helping people. He loved volunteering at Bibles for Missions and International Student Ministry.
Ron’s family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff at Kelowna General Hospital and The Hospice House for their compassionate care.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 28th at 2:30 pm at Mission Creek Alliance Church, 2091 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. It was with sadden heart to read the news of Ron’s passing. I shared many times volunteering with him at the Bibles for Mission, and grew to know what a caring and devoted man he was. Joyce and I send our sincere condolences to his wife and family, finding peace in your heart knowing that he is now with his Lord
Our love to Lil and family. Ron was clearly a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ and He brought his best every day for the cause of Christ. We honor the Lord as we celebrate His graduation into Heaven. He provides us a very good model for earthly living and great assurance for the next chapter.

Uncle Ron, you get to experience what we left on earth still have to take by faith. Growing up you always left me feeling like you were such a kind man and that made me feel safe around you. Your eternal home with Jesus Christ and glorious Father must be something else to behold. Dearest Aunt Lil, Kevin & Carrie and family…I am so very saddened to hear of uncle Ron’s sickness and now his passing. What a dear man he was to so many people, the loss you feel must be so big. Just seeing his picture, made me realize what fond feelings for him have been tucked away deep in my heart since my childhood. To you all, my love, prayers and thoughts. We have cherished our friendship for more than 44 years and have spent many memorable times together. We will miss Ron and his humour. We are unable to attend his memorial service, but will try to visit in the spring. He was a great example to all who knew him and will be sadly missed. His love for the Lord was very evident in everything he did. May the Lord be will you Lil during this difficult time in your life.
What a Friend we have in Jesus. This hymn is the first song we learned in English since we came Canada a decade ago. When my wife and I visited Ron and sang this song
before him and his beloved wife and sister -in-law, he was so pleased. We promised him we visit again and sing another song. We are sure that he takes a rest with beautiful hymns singing by angels before Lord Jesus Christ and His Father. We really miss him. He was a real friend and neighbour of int’l students and Korean neighbour.

I know you will miss your husband and father very much. I well remember Ron in the mid eighties through Meadowlark Baptist Church and his involvement with the boys club. I will always remember his encouragements to people around him. I wish you all the best and God’s comfort I the coming days, weeks and years.

We pray that God will grant Lil His peace at this very difficult time. We are so appreciative of the wonderful visit we had together in January. Ron is a wonderful role model for us. We enjoyed working together with international student and his simple acceptance of whatever God had for him. We know he is now in a far better place and look forward to being together in Heaven.
Ron was a true friend and a dedicated Christian. He was one of the first candidates that I baptized in Moosehorn, MB. When living in Edmonton he lived on our street and became our “handy man”. We miss you Ron. Lil, words fail at this time, but prayer avails. We pray for you everyday. Accept our heartfelt condolences.

As your new friends it quickly became obvious to us Ron enjoyed living his life unselfishly by sharing his love of Jesus through his good works and deeds. He touched our lives by exemplifying what following Christ was all about. I shall never forget the hike we took last summer in search of Angel Falls. We were sorry to hear about Ron’s illness, but find comfort with you, Lil and family, that he is with his Lord whom he loved and served. We have good memories of our friendship with you and Ron. I, Grayson, remember well when we first met Ron. It was at an evening service at West Meadows, I believe one of the first we attended after moving to Edmonton in 1994. Ron came over to introduce himself and get to know us, and when he discovered I was a fellow Manitoban, well, that sealed our immediate friendship. After that we were in the same Bible study, and were often in your home experiencing the generous hospitality of the two of you. We were sorry when you moved to Kelowna. Yes, good memories of a good friend and a good Christian.
