We Remember
FLYNN, Murray McRae
November 27, 1931 — November 19, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of Murray McRae Flynn. Who, with his wife by his side, went to be with the Lord (and to be with family and friends who are already there) on November 19, 2023, at the age of 91.
Murray goes to join those who left before him, including his parents, Norman and Christina, and sister, Noreen (Bill) Edwards. Left to treasure his memory are his loving wife of 63 years, Anne; their children Trevor (Wendy) and Deanna (Erv); grandchildren Victoria (Matt), Amy (Cody), Kelsey, Justin (Jen), and Jessica; as well as great-grandchildren Damon and Logan. Also left to mourn, are his nephews and niece, Rick, Murray, and Lori Edwards.
Murray is remembered as a true character, with a gleam in his eye, a smile on his face, and a witty sense of humour. He adored jokes and was always laughing until the end. Murray was a loyal employee of CNR (Canadian National Railway) for 34 years and had a love of fishing, trains, golfing, Western music, and football (particularly his favourite team: the Saskatchewan Rough Riders).
The family would like to give a special thanks to the incredible doctors who were by Murray’s side in his final moments.

Dear Anne, Trevor & Deanna & Families. I just opened up the Wpg Free Press and what a shock to see Murray’s passing. My heart is sad today as my mind is doing a flashback of all our wonderful memories our families shared together. I was just looking at an old photo from 1960/61? on White Street in Atikokan. Anne and Murray, you were like our aunt and uncle for so many years. We think the world of your family. Our condolences to the family, we’re thinking of you. Murray is fishing with Ted up in heaven having a few laughs I’m sure. Hopefully see you in Kelowna next summer. Love you to pieces, love Jackie & Louise, Wanda & Dave and Wendy & Barry (friendship since 1960). I’ll always remember Murray’s laugh. Such a nice man.
Dear Anne and family…We were so sad to hear of Murrays passing. He will certainly be remembered for his love of telling stories and recalling the “good ole days!” We’re so glad we got to spend time with you both this summer. Our deepest condolences…
