We Remember

FOORD, Roy
April 29, 1941 — December 9, 2022
On December 9, 2022 at 81 years of age, the Reverend Roy Foord went to be with Jesus in glory. He went peacefully, and surrounded by his wife, his daughter, and Christmas music.
He leaves behind Diane Foord and their children Jennifer McInnes (Darryl) and Andrew Foord; as well as his grandchildren Sebastian Hoey and Elizabeth McInnes. He will also be missed by his brother Maurice Foord; as well as by Brett Foord (Kerry) and Yvonne Duclos (Kent); and by his many friends.
Born in London, England, Roy came to Canada when he was only 6 years old; he came with his mother and brother. At 22 years of age, he married his beloved Diane, with whom he celebrated their 59th anniversary just days before his passing. Together they had a family and Roy shared his joy of music with his children. Roy was able to play any instrument… though he preferred the Tuba! He loved motorcycles and had a passion for them his entire life. His humour and wit was exhibited by making quick puns in everyday situations.
Roy gave up teaching when he was called to ministry.
Until we are all together again in eternity, Roy will be with us always, in our hearts.
A Memorial Service to honour Rev. Roy Foord will be held at a later date.

I am so sorry for your loss of a husband, father and grandfather We are all saddened by the loss of a true friend Roy and I
were friends before we met 2 of the loveliest girls in Victoria, and Diane you and Roy had 50 years together. Honored to have been the best man and honored to have had a lifetime of friendship. May God give you peace and comfort.
I am writing to extend my deepest sympathies to all who mourn Mr. Foord. He was my Grade 5 music teacher in Ashcroft, BC and his love of music and passion teaching it was so evident, if you could call our cacophony “music”. Yet he didn’t give up his faith in our abilities and his love of the baritone and tuba lead to my picking them both up in high school band. I appreciated his patience and extra hours spent helping me to master my assignment on the ukelele. I hope his family and friends are able to let their gratitude for having had him in their lives ease the pain of his passing.
