We Remember
FOURNIER, Leon Armand
July 19, 1958 — March 28, 2024
Leon Fournier’s family is saddened to announce his unexpected passing on March 28, 2024, with family by his side.
Leon will be remembered by his high school sweetheart and beloved wife of 43 years, Judy; his children Jason (Erin) and Nicole (Danny); grandsons Brayden and Jordan; and granddaughter Aubree. He will also be missed by his siblings Rose (Albert), Remi (Amy), Maurice, and Andre as well as their children, Leon’s many nieces and nephews. His memory will also abide with his mother-in-law, Joy, and many extended family and friends. His spirit joins those who predeceased him: his parents; his brother Lou; and his beloved dog Trooper.
A social dynamo, Leon found his second home at work, where his vibrant personality and love for socializing made him a beloved figure among his colleagues. Blessed with the gift of gab, he was the life of the office, known for his witty jokes and playful demeanour. Infamous for his penchant for pranks, Leon had a knack for keeping everyone on their toes, especially his loving wife, whom he delighted in surprising around every corner.
Beyond his mischievous antics, Leon was a devoted husband and father, cherishing every moment spent with his family. His adoration for his grandchildren knew no bounds, and watching his grandson Jordan tear up the ice on the hockey rink brought him immense joy and pride, as did working alongside his grandson Brayden.
Leon’s love for the outdoors was a defining aspect of his character. His love for nature was not only a personal passion, but a legacy he passed down to his children and grandchildren. As spring unfolds its splendour this season, the family invites Leon’s friends and loved ones to remember him in the beauty of nature.

To Aunty Judy, cousins Jason and Nicole and family. I’m saddened for your loss, my warmest thoughts and prayers go out to you and your families.
I considered Leon to be a good friend. We shared work together but we also shared friendship. I sold Leon my big Dodge work van and he used it for many good years after. Sorry to learn of his passing.
Del and I are deeply saddened to hear of Leon’s passing. He was a great teammate and coworker, a pleasure to be around. Our deepest condolences to Judy, Jason, Nicole and the entire family. Sending big old bear hugs
I have only fond memories of Uncle Leon. He was always jovial, always laughing; he was a great leg-puller with his tall tales. He loved his wife, my Auntie Judy, and that blazed out of him like sunbeams. He made everyone in his radius feel seen, even his little niece, one of so many nieces and nephews in our big family. I’m sure he made each of us that knew him feel this way. He will be so missed.
As uncles go, Leon was supportive, caring, warm – and genuinely curious about what you were up to. Whether it was a family outing or camping trip, if Leon was there you know there would be some funny stories, and some laughs – he had a way of bringing people together through his stories or a funny game, and I especially appreciated his willingness to educate and share his knowledge. He will be missed, and his memory cherished. Condolences to the Fourniers from the Geddes Family.
