We Remember
FRIESEN, Bill
April 22, 1934 — June 1, 2017
After a short and courageous battle with cancer, Bill (William/Wilhelm) Friesen, age 83, was reunited with the love of his life and wife of 60 years, Alvina (nee Klippenstein), in the presence of their Lord and Savior, on June 1, 2017.
Bill was also predeceased, by his parents John and Agnes; brother Henry and sister-in-law Violet; sister Anne and brother-in-law Henry as well as their daughter Phyllis. He is survived by his daughter Valorie (Alvin); sons Brent and Blair; grandchildren Shevon (Jamy), Shaylene (Tyler) and Ryan. Bill will also be missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and coffee buddies.
Most of Bill’s working life was spent building or installing kitchen cabinets, until he finally retired at the age of 76.
To relax, Bill loved to go for drives, learn about history, take things apart and then put them back together. He loved building, fixing and even inventing. In the last few years, you may have seen Bill walking laps at the local Walmart, or enjoying a coffee with Alvina at McDonald’s.
Most of last year, Bill patiently and lovingly cared for Alvina until her passing at the end of 2016.
A joint memorial will be held for Bill and Alvina in their home province of Manitoba in the summer.

I’m so sorry to hear of your loss. Losing a parent is so hard. It’s nice that he and your Mom are together now.
I’m so sorry to see this. My condolences to your family.
Bill worked with us at Canyon Ridge in West Kelowna installing many kitchen and bathroom cabinets in this new home community. Always enjoyed going down to the homes and asking Bill how come it was taking him so long, to which he would reply. when you get to my age, speed is relative. His work was exceptional. He also built and installed cabinets and countertops in my house and being a fellow Manitoban we would pass the time telling stories about our old home towns. Bill was pleasantly thought of by everyone on the job site and in our home. So long Bill -God will Bless you for sure.
We are so sorry for the loss of you mom and dad. We sure loved there visits we will reall miss them- Denis Irene and family
