We Remember
GAALAAS, Kenton
April 10, 1958 — August 15, 2022
Kenton Maxwell Gaalaas, was born on April 10, 1958 in Edmonton, AB. On August 15th, 2022, Ken passed away unexpectedly at Kelowna General Hospital.
Ken attended Harry Ainley high school, married, and shortly after, moved to Jasper, Alberta to become a business owner at a very young age. Ken survived a nearly fatal plane crash in October 1988. After this life altering event, he used his experience as a business owner to reach national sales director status with Primerica over his almost 35-year career with the company. Ken was blessed to travel all over the world and reside in places he loved, lastly being Kelowna, BC for over a decade. His family and friends knew him as an amazing listener, storyteller, encourager, and as kind, generous, humorous, and hardworking.
Ken joins, in heaven, his father, Alan Gaalaas; his brother, Richard Gaalaas; and his beloved Uncle Wayne Gaalaas. He is survived by his loving wife, Kimberly Gaalaas; adoring mother, Theresa Gaalaas; daughter, Jaimee Rankin; son, Matthew Gaalaas; and stepdaughters Olivia, Teghan, & Tessa Gordey; brother, Mark Gaalaas (Nikki), with nephew, Jaden, & niece, Alyssa. He will be especially missed by his 5 grandchildren: Porter, Riley, Noah, Mya, & Skylar whom, during the summer, spent countless hours by the pool in Kelowna, BC.
The family invites friends and family to come celebrate his life on Saturday, October 22, 2022, from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm, at the Alfred H Savage Centre (in the Aspen Room), located in Whitemud Park, 13909 Fox Dr NW, Edmonton, AB; a short Memorial Service, with time to share stories of Ken and fellowship.

We were shocked and saddened to hear of Ken’s untimely passing.
I came to know Ken when I joined Primerica for a brief time in 1991 and he has been our agent and friend since then.

Our sincerest condolences to the entire family. Ken was a good friend and business partner. He will be sorely missed.
To The Entire “Gaalaas – Family”, It is with great sadness that I write this message, it means that a “GREAT LEADER” of men has passed on. Yet another one of God’s worriers a true soldier has gone, but His legacy shall live on in the halls of Primerica business’s all over Canada and The U.S.A. for many decades to come. Throughout Ken’s business career with us here at Primerica Financial Services he brought many new innovative idea’s to the table and because of this ingenuity of His along with His business savvy experience plus his desire to out work and out perform the competition in this field, Ken Gaalaas acquired the Position of “NAATIONAL SALES DIRECTOR” as well as gaining the position of “OWNERSHIP” of His business, Ken’s legacy will live on as one of the great’s in the halls of Primerica for a very long time to come. But His greatest Accomplishment within the business world is He “KEN GAALAAS” passed on a “LIFE STYLE” left to his immediate family that will benefit his beneficiaries for a long, Long, LONG time to come! Just as He (KEN) looked after his client base throughout the years of his working career. Ken also was able to use those very same principals to plan and acquire financial freedom for his heirs. “Mr. Kenneth Maxwell Gaalaas” Gone way too soon but never will you be forgotten by all those who loved you!
