We Remember

Galloway, Linda Gayle
May 8, 1941 — December 7, 2012
71, joined the angels on December 7, 2012, peacefully in her beloved apartment in Vancouver, BC. Linda was born May 8 1941 in Consort, AB, to Pauline and Otto Raesler, and she embraced life to the fullest, caring for others along every path she travelled. Mother, grandma, sister, friend, wife, partner, guide, mentor, and healer, she was a woman loved, admired, and cherished by all who knew her. Linda emanated pure love and acceptance, and her generosity was unparalleled. Young in spirit and full of vitality to the end, she loved sharing a cup of coffee, a great laugh, and especially a glass of wine (or two!) with her friends and family. She was a brave, gentle, and wise soul, who lived to give to others, professionally and personally. Missing her and loving her forever are her sons—and so, her daughters, Kevin (Alex) and Cory (Cheryl); her brothers, Barry (Irene) and Rick (Diane); her nephews and niece, Connor (Cheryl), Colin (Heidi), and Rhianna (Sami); and her cherished friend, Gael MacLean. Her grandchildren, Wyatt, MacKenna, and Ryder, were the centre of her universe and the pride of her life. She cherished them and the joy they shared. Her greatest sorrow would be having to say goodbye to them too soon. Linda will be celebrated privately at a later time by friends and family; those who wish to honour her may follow their hearts.
It is very hard to believe that Linda is no longer with us. As a first cousin to Linda and just 2 weeks younger, I have many memories of happy times shared together when we were young and living in Alberta………..Linda in Onoway and my family in Mayerthorpe. We shared secrets, dreams and laughs. Oh, her laugh…………it literally gurgled out of her and made one smile from ear to ear. As adults our time together was much less frequent but I knew that Linda was a very special person…….with a heart and soul that seemed to know only goodness and this was so evident in her relationships with others. She had a spiritual richness about her that I could only envy. Linda loved her family and talked often and lovingly about them all. My condolences to you, her family, and to all you knew Linda.
Sending love and peace to all the many people in Linda’s life who are mourning her loss. Linda was a beautiful person, positively touching the lives of all who knew her. I am ever so grateful that I was one of them…
Linda is sorely missed by all of us,and particularly those of us who visited with her daily and who relied on her to keep the candle of our humanity brightly burning. Linda was my older sister but just as importantly, my best friend. We shared confidences, tears and laughter without judgement. In the end, none of us, it seems can choose to live or die but if there is a heaven then Linda will be seated well.
Linda will always hold a very special place in our heart. It was through my sister Gael that my husband and I got to experience Linda’s gracious and genuine giving sole with introduction to her years back. Since then we had the honor to have Linda at our California house and were anxious to share our new Idaho residence with her. She had many times shared her home with us. Someone/being had a greater service for Linda so she didn’t get to Idaho. We know through our beliefs that Linda is serving a specific purpose where she is now and that we will connect when our time is choosen. Love you Linda – forever in our heart!
Words cannot express the void created when Linda moved on. It was through my sister Gael that my husband Chris and I got the opportunity to know Linda – always being a gracious host when we were in Vancouver and always showing her genuine love for life, friends and family. Real treat was her visiting us in our California home, only wish she made it to Idaho! Through our beliefs we know Linda is serving her next purpose in life and that when our time comes we will reconnect. Sorry for all you are going through but take comfort in that she was called for a purpose.
It is so hard to believe that it is already six weeks since Linda joined the angels. It was a privilege to know her and to be friends with her. Always willing to help with anything, free to share her smile and her eternal wisdom, Linda was an true example of how to love unconditionally. Linda’s physical presence is missed by many of us, yet I know that she continues and will continue to be with each of us through the love connection in our hearts…
Linda was a beautiful spirit I was very lucky to know even for far too short a time. Much sympathy to family and many friends. Travel safely Linda, you are in my heart
