Went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 11, 2014 at the age of 79. He is survived by his loving wife Christa; his sons Randy (Tammy) of Kelowna and Ken (Kim) of San Francisco, CA; grandchildren Mariah and Madison; his brother Willi (Irene) of St. Albert, AB; his sisters Maria Rodenberg (Hubert) of San Carlos, CA and Augustine Helmhold of Edmonton, AB; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, and Christa’s family, son George (Paula), daughter Trixi (Roger), grandchildren Emily, Alana and Linsay. Leo is sadly predeceased by his brother-in-law Willi. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Grace Lutheran Church, 1162 Hudson Road, West Kelowna. Should family and friends so desire, donations may be made to Grace Lutheran Church (Benevolent Fund).     Dear Christa, Randy, Kenny & the entire Gendemann Family-

    Sending all our love from the California Rodenberg Clan. We will forever cherish the wonderful family memories shared with our uncle, godfather, and brother. Saddened by our loss, we will take comfort knowing he is looking down on us from heaven now. If I know my Uncle…he would say, “It’s okay to miss me, but Ach du Lieber… remember the fun and laughs we’ve shared too!” Notice…half the sentence is in English and the other half is in German. This is something our family just does! He would want us to continue living life to the fullest, (ex; start that great business idea if that’s your passion)–Uncle Leo and I share that entrepreneurial spirit, love your family members deeply, … and lastly–it’s okay to be stubborn every once in awhile! That’s in our blood too!! 🙂

    We love you all very much and wish we could be there with everyone. Sending you all our warmest & biggest California hugs.
