We Remember
GIBSON, Patricia “Paddy”
March 17, 1943 — January 23, 2022
In loving memory of Paddy Gibson, we are saddened to announce her passing on January 23, 2022, she will live on in our hearts. She is survived by her son Darren (Jody); son-in-law Stacey; and grandchildren Jacob, Aiden, and Connor. Sadly, she was predeceased by her beloved husband Paul and daughter Tracy.
The youngest of seven siblings, Paddy was born in Alert Bay, BC (a village on Cormorant Island, near the town of Port McNeill on northeast Vancouver Island). However, she grew up in Vancouver, BC, where she met her husband Paul in high school. After marriage, Paul and Paddy settled in Fraser Lake, BC, and they began their family. After a few years of catering and running a bakery there, Paul moved the family to the Okanagan. Paddy and Paul owned and operated Lugi’s pub in the mission and enjoyed many fun memories with friends and family there.
Paddy had a love for sports that she shared with her children, and if the kids weren’t playing in a baseball tournament, she most likely was!
After Paul’s passing, Paddy continued to keep herself busy with an active social life: travelling, curling, golfing, and going to many bonspiels and golf tournaments. Another of Paddy’s joys were her grandchildren, and a bigger fan of them you could not find. She was a regular fixture at all their games and supported them in all they attempted.
No formal service will be held. Family and friends will honour her, each in their own way.

Sorry to hear of Paddy’s passing and my condolences to the family. We played many fun rounds of golf at Sunset Ranch over the years.
Paddy and I met playing ball in 1979 or 80……. We both lived in Crawford Estates and our lives travelled together ever
after. Over the next 40 yrs. we curled, skied, golfed, went on trail rides ( horses )., fished, camped, .. and drank almost a million beers. What a fun life we I had. You were always a family person Paddy, a great Mother and Grandma to your boys……. and will be missed and remembered by many many friends……….. RIP dear friend.
.
Darren, Jody, Stacey…….my sincere condolence and prayers to all your family.
I met Paddy when we were 13 years old and she became a lifetime member of our family. Most Friday nights we packed into our family car and headed to the drive-in-movies with blankets and lots of food. At 15-16 she met Paul at our home as he was a friend of my brother Ron and there journey began.. Paddy we have great memories never to be forgotten. God has now embraced and you are at piece. 🙏🏻 Gail Patterson and Ron Powell
Ken and I wish to send our heart felt thoughts to Darren, Jody, Aiden, Connor, Stacey and Jake. I loved her very deeply and had many years of cherished times with Paddy. Darren, you were only two when we met Paddy and Paul and I have
so much fun and memories with her that will last forever. God bless all of you.
