We Remember

GIESBRECHT, Eduart Arthur

November 13, 1933 — May 15, 2023

At the age of 89, Eduart Giesbrecht went to be with the Lord on May 15, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Nettie; his children David (Patti) and Debbie (Angelo); his daughter-in-law Norma; and Nettie’s children, Dionne (Richard) and Tara. Eduart will also be missed by his grandchildren, Melissa, Stephanie, Andrew (Shami), Kaitlin (Brendan), Shayla (Eric), Taylor, Cole, and Austin (Toni); his six great-grandchildren; his brother Bernie (Lea); and numerous nieces and nephews; as well as many more extended family members.

Affable and outgoing, Eduart would engage all those he met, from babes in arms to Elders, Eduart turned strangers into friends. During his bachelor years, he travelled extensively and had a keen spirit. Some of his favourite destinations were Mexico and Hawaii. For work, he was an entrepreneur. On February 18, 1989, he married Nettie, and later that year, they moved from Manitoba to Kelowna, BC.

During his retirement, Eduart worked to compile the many family trees he was connected to, he became quite the family historian. Eduart loved his children and his grand- & great-grandchildren dearly.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Gospel Mission.
