We Remember
GOERLITZ, Ann May Lorraine (nee Lawton)
August 9, 1931 — May 14, 2016
Mom passed away peacefully in her sleep Saturday afternoon, May 14, 2016. Predeceased by the love of her life Heinz in 2007 and her brother Peter in 2006. She leaves behind her daughter Christine Daley (Stan Alstad) and son Danny (Maggie) Wallace. Grandsons, Graham Daley and Christopher (Reanna) Daley will miss the Christmas mornings she shared with them. She was a caring Oma, Grandmom and Great Grandma to all the Goerlitz, Daley, Wallace and Alstad clans.
Born at Wabamun, Alberta, she was adopted by P.B. Lawton (D’d 1962) and Christena Smith Lawton (D’d 1989). Mom spent her summers at Seba Beach with all her aunts, uncles and cousins. She graduated with the class of ’48 from Beverly High School in Edmonton where her dad was the principal. Moving to Kelowna in 1966, Mom enjoyed skiing and sailing. In mid-life Mom met Heinz Goerlitz and together they toured Norway and Germany. Mostly Mom enjoyed packing up the camper and exploring western Canada picnic sites with Heinz, her mother and Aunt Kate.
Mom made friends with everyone she met. Her lifelong friendships stemmed from South Kelowna Elementary where she was the secretary for 25 years.
“Love you forever, Mom.”

Christine, Danny and families
Your mom was my dear friend for over 30 years and I will miss her dearly. She was there for me when I lost Jeff and Dennis and I’ll always be thankful for that. I was glad I was home from Phoenix and able to spend time with her during this past month. She was a loyal and wonderful friend.
