We Remember
Goshulak, Darlene Carmen
July 11, 1941 — November 14, 2012
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of a loving wife, mother and “Baba” on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, in Kelowna, BC, at the age of 71. Darlene was born in Calgary, AB on July 11, 1941 to George Wilkinson and Elna (nee Olson) Sweetnam and raised there. She married Orest(Ernie) Goshulak in Calgary on November 29, 1958, where they also raised their family of six. Darlene, a devoted mother, enjoyed volunteering in her children’s school events and spent countless hours baking with her cherished grandchildren. Darlene’s door was always open. She welcomed family, friends, and acquaintances in her home in Calgary, their Chestermere Lake cabin, and Kelowna home. Always putting the needs of others before her own, Darlene was an attentive, selfless, and caring individual. Her wit and sense of humour will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
Survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Orest (Ernie); their children: Jullie Cooper of Calgary, Carmen Nadon (Martin) of Kelowna, Danny Goshulak of Calgary, Gayla Goshulak of Toronto, Carla Morasch (Glenn) of Carstairs; three grandchildren: Grant Cooper of Calgary, Jennifer Nadon of Kelowna and Colton Goshulak of Vernon; her sister Delaine Mitchell of Airdrie; brothers: Dennis Sweetnam of Saskatoon, Kenneth Sweetnam of Aldergrove; numerous treasured nieces, nephews and friends. Sadly predeceased by her son, Andrew Goshulak. We will always carry your memory in our hearts.
A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Lynne Tereposky for her compassionate care as well as the ICU nursing staff at Kelowna General Hospital.
A Prayer Service will be held on Monday, November 19th at 7:00 pm and a Funeral of Divine Liturgy will be held on Tuesday, November 20th at 9:00 am.
