We Remember
GOTTGETREU, Patricia “Pat”
August 4, 1947 — August 15, 2023
At the age of 76, Patricia Gottetreu passed away, surround by love and family, on August 15, 2023, at the Kelowna General Hospital.
Born to the late Robert and Ellen (née Inglis) Boden in 1947, Pat’s life was a beautiful canvas of generosity, creativity, and connections. Whether she was golfing, at aqua fit, or over a cup of coffee, Pat’s warmth and sociability were a constant source of joy for those around her. Beyond her personal pursuits, Pat’s compassion extended to her role as a Weight Watchers leader. She helped countless individuals navigate their health journeys, guiding them toward success.
Family was at the core of Pat’s essence. A devoted wife of 56 years, Pat stood alongside her beloved husband, Hugh, through all the chapters of their remarkable journey. Her legacy extends through her two sons, Chris and Greg (and daughter-in-law Nicole), as well as through Anthony and Jacob, her cherished grandsons; all of whom will forever carry her spirit forward. Siblings David and Stanley Boden, and Margaret (Mike) Power shared in her joys and sorrows while growing up, and her influence cascades through numerous nieces and nephews.
In honour of Pat’s remarkable journey, a private family service will be held. As we bid her farewell, we will remember the laughter, the strokes of her brush, the drives on the golf course, and the countless lives she helped shape.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to BC Cancer – Kelowna – Sindi Ahluwalia Hawkins Centre for the Southern Interior.

So sorry to hear of Pat’s passing. We had many fun times on the raquetball court and having coffee and bagels afterwards. Hugs to Hugh and the boys.
Patricia Anne’s life began on 4th August 1947 in Edinburgh, Scotland. She had an adventurous spirit and at the tender age of 18 years she emigrated to Canada where her brother Stanley looked after her until she met her husband, Hubert. Pat was always conscious of her Scottish roots and returned regularly to Edinburgh. As we say in Scotland “you can take the girl out of Scotland” but “not Scotland out of the girl”. We have lost our cherished, beautiful and beloved sister, sister-in-law and aunt. She is so very sadly missed and will be forever in our hearts.
“Your smile alone warmed hearts
Your laugh was like music to hear
We would give absolutely anything
to have you well and standing near”
