We Remember
GOY, Rosemarie Peggy “Rose”
August 2, 1956 — March 5, 2026
Rose came into this world on August 2, 1956, in Edmonton, Alberta as Rosemarie Fischer. She left it peacefully, on March 5, 2026, surrounded by the gentle care of the Central Okanagan Hospice House in Kelowna, British Columbia, at the age of 69. In the years between, she lived a life devoted to caring for her family.
Rose raised her two sons, Michael and Christopher, mostly as a single parent, which was her greatest life achievement. Her working years were spent largely in retail, where she met people with the same warmth she brought to everything else in her life. Rose continued to care for her family all of her life with steady, unwavering love. She became a caregiver during her mother Erna’s later years, and always took great joy in cooking favourite meals for her father, Paul. Her family-recipe Linzertorte was a favourite and always looked forward to by the family on special occasions.
Rose is survived by her sons Michael Goy and Christopher Goy; her father, Paul Fischer; and her nephew, Cory Fischer. She was preceded in death by her mother, Erna Fischer, and her brother, Paul Fischer. She touched the lives of many with her warmth and nurturing nature.
A private service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice House Kelowna (Central Okanagan Hospice House).
